i don't think any of the potions we have are inherently a spooky colour but the fact they're still potions are in itself a halloween themed collectible, i think it'd be cool to make a potion people universally like more and can be used in line ups, at this point we're already on a blue path so i think adding other colours makes it look a bit dull and boring, that's just my opinion though, i voiced i was a fan of the brighter colour at the start so i'm biased hehe
As I posted above, it is easy to neutralise the blue currently in the potion with red. Just because this is what has been thrown into the cauldron so far doesn't mean we have to stick with it. If people are unhappy with the direction the potion is currently taking and wish to go in another direction then it can be achieved.
Right now it feels like a vocal minority have swayed development thus far and other people's opinions have been unfairly pushed down, so it would be nice if other people could speak up so we could get a better sense of what the majority would like to see.
i apologise : ) didn't mean for it to be like i am dictating the thread, i don't think it's a vocal minority though, i don't think that's fair to say, i think direction is needed or we are left with a potion potentially no one really wanted, anyone is happy to say and like i have said on every single post of mine this is only my own opinion and happy to hear everyone's suggestions

We just want to throw other ideas out there so people know that other options exist. We do see that a small group of people want something very specific (which is fine!) but plenty of others have expressed desire for a black or darker-themed collectible, and we want to make sure everyone is comfortable sharing what they want without being made to feel like they're doing something wrong by not going with a certain color or theme.
That said, all prize pack recipients should add whatever colors or items they'd like to the cauldron! This is meant to be fun and if it ends up looking like dumpster sludge, then hey. It'll be the coolest dumpster sludge collectible out there by a long shot.

i'd just like to add we did suggest cyan but we didn't force anyone, we were under the impression that people agreed and were happy, of course if people wanted a darker themed collectible that'd be fine and i assume that's why black was added originally, i think it's a really fun idea and i didn't mean for us (or me, idk) to come across as dominant, we just wanted to see a collectible everyone would like, of course anyone should add what they like but i also assumed the forum would prefer something that wasn't sludge haha

Rather than saying simply what you're okay with, it's alright to tell us exactly what you want to see! Other people might agree with you.

I like both of these examples! Especially the softer one with more white.
If I were to strive towards a specific colour of my choice I’d love for either a bright or deep orange. It’s an often underrated colour and would compliment the Swamp and Bat potions really nicely. Though not sure if such a colour is even possible with what we have going.
I doubt many others would also want the same which is why I’ve been fine with the blue or sea blue people have been suggesting. But I figured I’d put my personal thoughts out there anyways.

Okay, actually I am quite upset, I am not positive that the comment was directed at me or not, but I think it was. I may just be being a baby about this, but everybody agreed with cyan until the last minute. We expressed why we didn't love the idea of black(or pink), but said if everyone wanted black(or pink) that was fine too, but then everyone said the cyan was good. This is supposed to be us expressing our opinions, if we didn't do this it would end up brown lol. It's not like nobody liked cyan and we added 4 cyan dyes, so that nobody had a choice. I think that it is unfair to say people's ideas were disregarded or pushed down. I'm sorry if this sounds rude or anything, I'm just usually timid about this, so I thought I should stand up for what I think for once ahaha. I'm still okay with going with the majority obviously, it just hurt me to hear that people thought I was pushing down others ideas, I didn't force anyone to say yes to cyan. I made a mock up for all of the ideas, including the new white! I just want everyone to be happy with the new collectible, and the majority seemed to be cyan/light blue until today when everyone changed their minds. Everyone was being indecisive with cyan and pink, so I just tried to get people to discuss, so we could finally get started. Also I feel like the only truly Halloween color is orange? Again, I’m sorry if this comes off as rude, I am not trying to start any drama or anything lol! Sorry for the long paragraph, I just want to let everyone know I didn’t mean to be pushy and I didn’t think I was!

Orange is one of the two colours I've been hoping that someone would bring up! It would fit in wonderfully with our current set.
I just want to add one more thing: it's been mentioned from the beginning that staff were also participating in this mini event, here in the second post:

orange would have been nice but by the time i had even got to the thread it would have been hard. i don't fault anyone at all but i think in the future a start date would have been nice so we could have discussed it a bit more before adding. i think that's mostly why me and lana suggested cyan as it was already blue/black
perhaps i was a little hasty though and it could have been easily resolved with more colours but initial colours would mean it's a little dull?

hello from another POV (i guess from a pink advocate i might be biased, but as a disclaimer i really wouldn't have minded a blue/teal color), but personally it did feel like cyan was extra pushed on. when we were still somewhat discussing, ReeBear actually was able to make other colors that weren't bluish even though there were a few dyes in the mix already so i do think we could've gone any route.
at that point cyan and pink were the "top contenders" (i guess), and then a couple more people said cyan and all of a sudden it seemed decided that that was the direction we were going so it just kept getting pushed? i don't think a good amount of people had even received their cards or partook in the discussion yet so they might not even have felt like they had a part in making the decision and kinda just went along with it. but that might just be my own thought process, especially now that a few people have started to voice out their actual color preferences rather that what they were just "ok" with.

The goal of the cauldron is for everyone to share the type of potion they’d like, whether it happens to fall with the majority or otherwise. I don’t believe anyone is intentionally trying to disregard or force desires; however, when a train gets going, it can become difficult to express opinions that may differ. This can result in some choosing a “front runner” even if they have another idea in mind. That is the fault of no one - it comes from natural excitement over a great idea. Of course, it’s perfectly fine to run with an idea you see that you love too.
It’s nice to create and share many concepts to see what could be as the cauldron will be open for some time - whether that’s a bright blue, ocean blue, ghostly blue, blood orange, bone white, black, gray, etc. All of these are still achievable. We have the opportunity to discuss and mix and match. It’s fine to be certain, and it’s fine to change your mind before dropping into the cauldron.
