I spent over $50 on plants that have died over the course of a month because it got way too hot in my room.

I bought the expansions to Civilization 6 thinking it would make me enjoy the game more. After all, Brave New World is what really made Civ 5 good. Turns out I still don't like it and I wasted tons of money on those expansions.

Yes, I pre-ordered that game. Not as fun as 5, in my opinion.

Brought a controller cover for my PS4 only to realise I ****ed up and brought an Xbox one, one whoops

A Keurig! I really dislike how wasteful it is.
Fortunately my partner gets a lot of use out of it even though I would rather just grind up the beans for them.

Honorable mention: everything plastic that is one-use I have ever used that has a reusable and long-term replacement.

Most of my kitchen supplies. When I moved away from home for the first time, I thought I would need everything under sun. I bought all kinds of Tupperware, cooking utensils, pots and pans of various sizes....and I literally NEVER cook. But if I ever do need to cook, I'm sure I'll have anything I could possibly need. :p

Yeah Civ V was one of my fave games, spent well over 600 hours back in the days on it. Never got VI or that Space-version whatever it was named but yeah.

Also to be on topic, game collectables and LE's that I only played for a bit and never used ._. And some clothes I bought on impulse..like I gave them back to second hand stores and such but yeah I need to plan **** lol

Probably Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2. I bought both of them and played them so little. It was a huge waste of money.

Yikes I have made so many dumb purchases...for one, in 2018 I probably spent at least $150 on Fire Emblem Heroes and now I don't even play that game anymore. I have bought lots of books I'll probably never read, video games I never play, stuffed animals I don't need, little trinkets that I won't really use (just last week I bought a glass straw with a frog on it at a craft show...really cute but how often do I drink from straws?) I really need to think harder about long-term usage before I purchase things.

So… much… skincare! I'm obsessed with my skin, always been. It used to be acne prone, but then accutane came into my life and saved me, haha. It was very expensive but worth it. ALL THE OTHER SKINCARE MEDICINES ON THE OTHER HAND.... oh my, I don't even want to think about how much money I've wasted on creams that are supposed to help. Stick with cerave, my no.1 tip.

I don’t make dumb purchases anymore... learned my lesson and just how valuable money is awhile ago...

A lot of games I just HAD to have... and never played... I will eventually though!

Oh and acrylic nails... I love having pretty nails, but I don’t like the prices at salons so I do them myself. While they look very nice when I’m finished, they only last about a week

I've spent so much money on stupid mobile games like fire emblem and love nikki over the years ;-; also a ton of makeup that expires before I even use it cos I never wear it lol

I have issues with impulsively buying, in mobile games. v_v
I also use purchasing things as a coping mechanism and buy things
without thinking just because I feel like I need it to fill some void
or I think it's somehow gonna help.

A lot of league riot points. I since stopped and quit but I would just buy riot points to gamble away hextech chests and it would get really expensive. I've impulse purchased a lot but I'm otherwise pretty frugal so it makes no sense as to why I have no issues buying riot points, but won't buy essentials like groceries or clothes... priorities are mixed up lol

Feels about game stuff, I regret every cent I spent on apps or stuff.. Only game I really justify spending on is AQW bc then you actually get what u pay for...

I make a lot of impulse purchases, but I don't think I've done anything too dumb. I only buy things, like games and clothing, that I know that I'll make use out of. If I'm not 100% on something I won't buy it :p

I bought an elaborate cat tree a couple of years ago.
It looked awesome.
It had like.. five levels, and had boxes built in where the cat could sleep.

My cat took one look at it and that's all the attention she ever gave it.

It was expensive too. :(

You reminded me about another of my wasteful purchases. I used to have a cat (unfortunately she passed away many years ago) and I bought this really cool, pagoda-shaped cat tree for her. It cost a couple hundred dollars. Did she use it? Of course not.

We still have it because I refuse to get rid of it in case we ever get another cat who just might like it. We store certain clothing and accessories on it right now. :p
