Today is so far my favorite day of 2024, bar none.
As most of you know, today was my birthday and it went wonderfully.
I woke up early. And went with my dad to the store, where he got me a $400 gift card. He also ordered me $200 worth of iOS gift cards, since the store was out of them, and I wanted some of my birthday money to be put towards that (since Vanilla gift cards decline iOS services). And we got Five Guys for lunch, one of my favorite restaurants.
I also celebrated my birthday in all five mainline games this year, which was really nice.
In, the
GameCube version,
Apollo was the one who delivered the NES game to me, actually.
I was genuinely (but pleasantly) surprised about this one, I am not gonna lie. For the past 12 years, I had myself convinced that the villager to give you the NES game was entirely randomized, rather than dependent on friendship levels. I have talked about this on here before, but my birthday in this version was a complete bust back in 2012. You see , Static was the villager I focused on befriending the most for (and that town was started like in Fall 2011) - yet he gave zero acknowledgement to my birthday that year, so I am glad things turned completely around for the better this year. <333
(I also got a cake from my mom and letters with presents from Kitty, Yuka, Kiki, Hector, Bunnie, Deena, Annicotti ^,^)
I either just got really lucky this year, or it was before 10AM when I logged on for my birthday in 2012.
There IS evidence through all Animal Crossing games that waking up before all your villagers are awake can alter who give you an NES game/birthday cake/birthday party...or even if you get one at all. As I remember it, I didn't know sleep schedules existed in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing, as I remember my villagers being up at really weird times, including Static being up at the arse-crack of dawn.
(I did hear villagers can do that during the beginning)
People claim that friendship measurements do not exist in this version. I do see where they are coming from, since there are very few indications of friendship levels in this game. Valentine's Day is one of them (which is only for villagers of the opposite gender to your player)...birthdays MIGHT, on second thought, be another one, if my latter theory is true. I do not remember what time I played this version of Animal Crossing in 2012 for my birthday, but if it was before 10AM, then there is a good chance that it DOES consider friendship after all and just had to deal with a backup due to Static still being asleep. ^__^
But yeah, this is why I make sure all my villagers are up in each Animal Crossing game if it's my birthday -- that way, the villager who is supposed to greet me at my door can do so, and the game doesn't have to give me a backup villager, due to logging on when said villager is still asleep. ^^ (but yeah, tangent over. I just wanted to express my thoughts on this, since things where turned around for the better in this version compared to me playing this version on my birthday in 2012. ^,^)
In
WildWorld,
Apollo was the one to give me a cake.
He was also the (only) one to send me a birthday card, which was interesting. <3333
No bells from mom, unfortunately.
In
CityFolk,
Apollo was the one to give me cake.
No birthday cards from the other villagers, but I got 5,000 bells from "Mom".
In
NewLeaf,
Apollo was the one to host the party.
Grizzly and Gladys were also there. My birthday wish was to "Make an impact with books" (I couldn't fit "my" in there) and I got a birthday cake for my present <333
In NewHorizons,
Apollo was the one to host the party.
Gabi and Sherb were also there. Apollo gave me a birthday hat. I whacked the pinata and got 10 cupcakes, which I gave one to Apollo and got a second birthday themed gift from him: Birthday shades. K.K. Slider was also there to play K.K. birthday, and I also got some sweet messages from Apollo and Ava.
(funny story, I rushed on last night for the birthday song special, because I thought it was the "Saturday before" deal like in New Leaf, so I was really upset and panicked when K.K. just played a normal song, but I looked it up after wards and was reliiiiieved. ^.^)
You guys are probably shocked about this turn-out:
Apollo being the one at my door in all five games. But to me, this is the best possible outcome I could have gotten. You all know how much I love that...
Oreo bird.
I didn't say anything, but despite having other predictions set for GC, WW, and CF, deep down, I wanted Apollo to be the one to be at my door. Even if he wasn't my main prediction for WW and CF, I know he was still a probable one, considering he is the one I am closest to in all five games. GC, on the other hand, yeah, I was shock about that...but in the best possible way, due to being let down in 2012 (which MAY have just been because I logged on too early).
I also got some amazing birthday drawings from some of my friends
These are from Eli: One of my comfort characters (Tankman) giving me a pink rose cake, and Eddie, an OC I made and based off of him (since me and my closest friends have made OCs based off each other <333)
And this one was from @/AshtonDraws - He drew my OTP (Red Fiend x Blue Goddess from Miitopia), and some of my fictional crushes (left to right): Ally Kabam (Papa Louie), Venus (SolarBalls), Tankman (New Grounds), Apollo (Animal Crossing), Mousse (Papa Louie), and Red Fiend is actually included in that list too <333 (I'm the one in the middle between Tankman and Apollo <3)
Also, I would like to close this by thanking everyone who left me "Happy Birthday" wishes <333
