What Are You Happy About Today?

☾ My family and I got to watch an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Fairy Tail this morning! We're getting kinda close to finishing FMAB for the second time now and oh my gosh it's been so worth it.
☾ Stardew Valley has kept me totally absorbed today ahaha, but I've made a lot of progress and I'm still having a blast!
☾ Also saw some Youtube videos with my family later, including GeminiTay's Empires SMP finale.
☾ Got a little more reading done today too!

➣ I watched a few more episodes of Demon Slayer. Shows in general tend not to hold my attention, so it just goes to show how well Demon Slayer is written. Not binging by any means, but a nice show to casually be into.
➣ I’m happy that although NHL apparel is going downhill with their new Fanatics contract, I came across a brand with quality hockey apparel. It took some searching, but I found something I’m happy with. Design and quality matter to me here, so this is big for me. The shirts don’t have too much going on which I like, so they have my business. I’ll post pictures once they arrive.
➣ I gained tons of BR today in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nice way to spend my day off!
➣ I watched a few videos of Disney World because I’m still excited to go. Looking forward to the hot tub and sauna. I’m getting a little impatient, and planning to have tons of fun!!!

- Finished my 1500 word essay today and did some work to prepare for my next one. Basically collected all my secondary sources and some primary too, and wrote out the first part of my intro. I'm hopeful about finishing the whole Seen Exam in approx 3 days.

- Managed to get all my clothes dry on the line outside before it started raining today lol

- Ate some good food today, I'm so glad its mango season

For the past couple years I've kept getting sushi on Mother's Day for some reason. I think it's probably because my mom and I used to go eat sushi together a lot. It's become tradition for me to do this now, and reminds me of good memories with her.

I went to my brother's house today to celebrate mother's day with our mom, my brother's wife, and her parents. - I mentioned that the new Zelda game was out, but I couldn't afford to waste any money on games since I'm out of work...and he was like "I'll just buy it now and send it to the house. You can play it first, and then I'll take it when you finish it."

Blessed. Lol

Today I'm happy because:

- I got some more reading done last night.
- I slept deeply and got to sleep in this morning. I felt rested when I woke up.
- The weather was beautiful today and I could smell the honeysuckle and other wild flowers.
- I saw some of my favorite neighborhood dogs on our afternoon walk. One I don't get to see often but she always makes me smile.
- I saw a black widow spider outside. I know most people wouldn't be happy about that, but I didn't bother it and it didn't bother me.
- My husband mowed the lawn and did some other yardwork today so everything looks nice.
- I spent a lot of quality time with my husband and my dog. My dog was super sweet, silly, and adorable today.
- I spoke to my mom and wished her a happy Mother's Day.
- It's been a good weekend overall. I'm sad it's ending but...
- Tomorrow is my husband's birthday. I finally get to give him his presents!

☾ Got to watch another episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and the latest One Piece episode with my parents this morning! We also saw SolidarityGaming's Empires SMP season two finale this evening, and I thought he did a great job with his wrap-up!
☾ My mom seemed to really like her Mother's Day present, which I'm really glad about! ^^ We also went out for ice cream together after dinner and that was a lot of fun.
☾ I played some more Stardew Valley while hanging out with my family today! Just a very nice, chill, lowkey kind of day.
☾ We've had to delay our moving plans until next year and while that's a little bittersweet, it's certainly a lot less stressful than trying to get everything done in another month or two ahahah. It also means I finally got to pre-order Jack Jeanne and Radiant Tale, which I'm very excited for!! ;w;
☾ Found some better-quality official art of a few of my comfort characters.
☾ And I did a little more reading today! I think I should be able to finish this book I've been on by tomorrow.

Had a great day today because we got our copy of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!!! I was expecting it to not be here until Monday or Tuesday, but I'm so happy that we got it today. I am just so amazed with all the new mechanics in TotK and I'm having a blast playing it. I won't go into further detail because of spoilers, but I absolutely love the game.

Almost forgot to mention that we got Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer. Haven't played it yet but it looks very interesting, so I'm definitely gonna try it out at some point!

Another great thing that happened is that my grandma has two new kittens!! It was a Mother's Day gift for her, since she's been wanting to adopt a kitten for a while now. I got to help my step-mom pick them, and I really wish I had a picture on hand because they're so adorable. I'm gonna be seeing my grandma every day for the next few weeks to help take care of the kitties, so I can't wait!

Some things that made me happy yesterday:

-Got to play some Zelda: BotW! I decided to use my Switch Lite save file this time, which has about the same amount of progress as the one on my dad's Switch. I did pretty much the same things as yesterday; Got the Royal Guard set, upgraded my armor, did some exploring, completed a few side quests, and unlocked a couple towers.

-I finally finished the fanfic I was working on! I'm not entirely content with it as there's a few parts I think could be better, but I'm not gonna worry about it for now. I sent it to one of my friends and they said they loved it!

-I listened to SoaD's Hypnotize album with my dad. We spent some time discussing about the song meanings, and I'm happy that we got to do some family bonding. I'm hoping to do the same with the Mesmerize album, since it's my favorite one.

Typically when I post in here, I make sure I have at least a few things to mention. However, I need to mention this because it made my whole month, lol.

My dish buddy worked without me this morning, and as soon as he got there he asked where I was at. He was disappointed when the manager said I don’t work today. He was upset pretty much the whole day until he had a donut at the end of his shift. He was confused on which donut to choose, so my favorite person told him I would probably get the one with sprinkles (I would!) and he immediately chose that one, all excited. “Sprinkles are amazing!!”

KAARIJA IS THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO EUROVISION !!!! i love him so much, he deserved so much better but im still so happy for him. all the cute content of him has been powering me through post-eurovision depression.

- my mom is improving each day. She can feed her self and swallow even with a half paralyzed face so this is good. She would have had to be fitted with a feeding tube if her throat didn't work.
- she could read the mothers day card I gave her yesterday even if she sorta squints
- her personality is still there luckily. I saw her become annoyed by my dad and try to roll her eyes at him so she has retained her spice
- her speech is already getting better and less slurred

The weather finally seems to be consistently gorgeous, and I went on my first hike of the year yesterday afternoon! Only did ~3 miles this time but am looking so forward to an entire summer of long hikes and reconnecting with nature.

i got invited to a cool Discord server to discuss my fav current obsession and i was so giddy with all of the discussion that i stayed up SO late >< but it was so fun and i had a great time omggg

The dresses I ordered came today! I don't have enough self confidence to wear dresses outside my house yet but I'm hoping to. I just feel really self conscious wearing anything other than my typical tshirt and jeans or leggings combos I wear everyday. I want to venture out and try different styles that I've always wanted to try but never had the self confidence to try.

☾ Finally finished reading volume 11 of Durarara!! today! Feels like I've been on that volume for ages ahaha, but I'm looking forward to starting on 12!
☾ I played some more Stardew Valley! I can't believe I'm through with summer in this game already omg, but I'm having a blast still! I have a dog named Sandwiches and a hen named Gertrude and I'm just vibing tbh
☾ Watched a little Youtube with my family!

- I beat worlds 3 and 5 on difficulty II of Simulated World in Honkai: Star Rail last night.

- Slept well today.

- Work went well.

- Loved on my kitties today.

- The Dallas STARS defeated the Seattle Kraken just now 2-1 to win the series 4-3 and advance to the Western Conference Finals!!!!!!

Today I'm happy because:

- I visited my mom and got to pet her cat.
- We got her rent recertification done.
- I saw some cute little black birds in my yard.
- I saw a baby groundhog run across my backyard. I've named it Liam.
- It was supposed to rain a lot today, but thankfully it didn't. We were able to take our afternoon walk.
- I didn't get all my work done (not for lack of effort), but I logged off on time to spend the evening with my husband for his birthday.
- He loved the birthday/anniversary presents I bought him. They were related, so I gave him both even though our anniversary is still a few weeks away.
- We had a really wonderful day together after I got off work.
- We went out to eat at my husband's favorite Japanese restaurant. The food was delicious and we have leftovers for tomorrow.
- I saw a slug and a bunch of worms when I took my dog out for the last time tonight.
- I'm getting sleepy so I hope I'll sleep well tonight.
