Strangely, nothing at the moment. My library had been closed the past few days (but Idk about today), and the last two books I’ve read have been awful. Domestic violence was treated as some cutesy little relationship flaw. (Also, this was published in 2020, so no excuse for that.) Mind you, this was a cozy MYSTERY, but not much mystery was going on. The author also got distracted by a side plot about a kid with cancer, which could work, but didn’t add to the story.
The next book I read (a Debbie Macomber), was VERY hypocritical. It was all about people accepting each other’s difference, but then she described one fat woman (a roommate of a main character) as “grotesque” and constantly eating in front of the TV. Every time this character appeared, her weight was mentioned. It was like she didn’t have a personality.
This book was published in 2004, but hypocritical, given the overall message.
So now I’m very picky about what to read next….
