What Did You Accomplish On Your Island Today?

Today on Cosa Bella island:

  • Went clothes shopping and brought heaps more dresses in other colours
  • Went fishing
  • Talked to Tia she has decided to leave.. I wonder who will move instead
  • Checked out nooks cranny
  • Hung out with Buck for a bit
 
Productive day!!! I moved my museum and Rocco FINALLY asked to move out!!!! Punchy can finally move in :D :D I also landscaped around the resident services and added a little lavender garden full of rabbits. :)
 
Replying again as I had another productive day on the island! I added two new residents! Nuala, a selkie who seeks refuse on the island, and Elora, a forest fairy who lives in the mountains.
 
Getting ready for Christmas! My mother and sister are both really into Animal Crossing, so this Christmas I've set up a little outside Christmas area and I've put all their presents under a big festive tree. I also cleaned up my island for when they come over because jeez, I must have had about 600+ hybrids laying around and it was just getting ridiculous. I crammed every flower I could onto every available tile on the beach and the rest got the axe!

  • Over the past two weeks, I was on vacation and got K.K. Island, K.K. Jazz, all Zen Hairclips, all Layered Socks, Highway Flooring, Tree-Lined Wall, Field Flooring, Zodiac Dragon.
 
I placed Ramen on the table of my villagers vacation home. This was the first time I saw Ramen in the game, which is ironic because that's about all I have to eat now that the Christmas leftovers from my family are gone.
 
Managed to get a venus statue (didn't care that it was fake) so I could complete this statue fountain just outside of resident services. It's a shrine honoring the Selkies of the sea...

A. birdwing model, Bagworm Model, Brown Cicada model, Centipede Model, Char Model, Catfish Model, Blue Marlin model, Cicada Shell model, Citrus long-horned b. model, Cherry Salmon Model, Butterfly Fish Model, Bluegill Model, Betta Model, Carp Model, Blue Weevil Beetle Model, Barred Knifejaw Model, Barreleye Model, Arowana Model.
    • With all this, Miscellaneous only went from 88% to 89%.

finally finished the HHP dlc! I unlocked villager interior decorating on my island now and looking forward to Sherb finally having a proper home
 
After way too much time rolling snowballs and reducing their size over and over, I've gotten the Achievement for making 10 perfect Snowboys! HALFWAY THERE!!! Unfortunately, I still don't know how to reliably make perfect Snowboys because the 11-tile path didn't work for me either. The snowballs wouldn't even stick together.
 
I never post about daily things I did on my island, but today I was so bored late at night, I actually wanted to do it for once.
I also can’t figure out how to make Cherry and Kyle have a lengthy dialogue moment for my newest short story on this island’s journal - I really hope I can complete it this week as I’m anxious to get it done!

It’s also past 1AM my time and my eyes can’t fall asleep, which is rare. Anyway…

January 3rd, 2023
  • I received a letter from Poncho about his birthday gift I got for him, which was a yellow college cardigan that I thought fit him well. He was pretty happy about it. However, I caught him wandering on the beach looking distressed. When I asked what was wrong, he said he wanted to move away. That worried me, and I was fortunately able to persuade him to stay here and be happy.
    • While he never really explained his real reason for feeling this way, my theory via Bob is that Dotty - who spent a lot of time helping set up and being at his party - got offended by something Poncho either did or said. The two have had on and off feelings for each other ever since the cub moved in, and I guess Poncho went a bit too far with his words that made Dotty uncomfortable and thus she went home.
    • The party wasn’t totally ruined; Bob told me he went there after Dotty left and helped Poncho through this moment. I was there for Bob when he had his rough period coming to the island, and he told me that it was his turn to help a friend in need. Good for him.
  • C.J. came, and of course, I had a storage full of fish to sell. Most of these fish I’d intended to have made as models, but I got lazy and just decided that I needed storage space more. I got paid pretty well.
  • Caroline checked on me to see if I was still doing okay from what had happened the night before. Basically…
    • I found Lopez in his front yard. I wanted to small talk with him, but clumsily bumped into a spruce tree that had a live wasp nest inside by accident. I immediately alerted Lopez for help, but he wanted nothing to do with it. I tried to run away, but was too slow. After getting stung, all he told me while shrugging was “Hey, it could be worse.” Like what? Pushing me over the fence and onto the beach below? I thought we were best friends, buckaroo!​
    • Luckily, Caroline was nearby and felt incredibly bad about my sting, so she voluntarily gave me medicine in hopes that I feel better. Boy, did that work very well. I was back to 100% in no time, and gained major respect to the tropical squirrel with a big heart.​
    • I’m pretty sure that if I were Kyle in this scenario, Lopez would have actually done something more instead of watching me suffer from a distance. Oh well, it’s over now. I forgive him.​
  • I checked my newly-planted camilla shrubs to make sure they were doing well. Some had already fully bloomed, while others are in their final stages.
    • I planted the hollies I had way too late, as they only lasted a few days since planting them. It was a waste, but I’m planting the new shrubs early so I won’t have to do it later.
That’s it for the day, though I’ve got to talk to Dotty soon and find out if Poncho’s been bothering her. The two kinda like each other, but I’m not entirely positive if a proper relationship would be very plausible at this point. I’ll get the full story later.
 
  • I scanned Maddie in, now for the 3rd time in a row. Got her to finally move in after making all her DIY requests
  • Picked up all the star fragments off the beaches from last night's meteor shower
  • Chopped some trees down at a mystery island to replenish some of my wood materials stock
  • Said my last good byes to Erik, who had been with me since launch :cry: (Maddie, who reminds me of my Beagle, will move into his spot) I drew a good bye bulletin for him too.
  • Went deep sea diving and filled up my pockets to sell to Nooks before it closed for the night
 
I started a new island on my brother's switch! I just know it will be complicated specially because I only have one cartridge for the game, so i can't really transfer stuff from one island to the other. I got help from a friend, but I don't want to pester her every day with moving stuff so it really will be a fresh start! My original town, Laguna Bay is modern city themed, I wanted to do another one more rural with big open spaces and lavender fields, and a medieval kind of town centre. I loved my map this time because the town plaza is suuuper far away from the airport, way in the back, which will really allow me to make a cute entrance. My original neighbors were all really colorful, pink and green and blue, but this time I'll go for a white-grey-black pallete. I'm hoping for pairs: Fang and Whitney, Rolf and Bianca, Daisy and Lucky, and then Dotty and Ruby, Raymond and Marshall. I know, so many peppy characters! But I just can't help it, I think it's my favorite personality. Sad thing is that I seem to have misplaced my amiibo cards, and I don't really see cycling threads open. I guess I'm going to have to look around other places, and cross my fingers to get lucky with the less popular ones! Wish me luck :)
