What do you collect?

I collect quite a few things, but I only actively collect retro games now (even though I've slowed down quite a bit due to the pandemic). Mostly for Nintendo systems but I also have quite a large Dreamcast and PS2 collection.

Aside from games, I sort of collect playing cards as well.

Also I collect items shaped as turtles however it's a small collection since I have to exclude baby toys which is like the huge market for turtle things lol..

I don't know if it would count as "collectibles" but I used to buy Famicom cartridges of games I really like (I don't do this anymore because the games I still want to buy are prohibitively expensive). I managed to get all 6 Rockman (Mega Man) games, Ninja Ryukenden 1 and 2 (Ninja Gaiden), and a few others. I have a Japanese Tecmo Bowl complete in box, in pristine condition. The rarest games I have are Rockman 1, Rockman 6 and Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, which wasn't released outside Japan, but the cartoon in which it's based on was: Samurai Pizza Cats.

I also play Magic: The Gathering, and because of that I have a lot of cards (I used to have a lot more, but I sold about 6k cards a few years ago).

I collect funko pops alongside my bf, although I just get the ones I like and am not hardcore enough to try to get ALL of them (I have all the limited time care bear ones) and have a small collection of plushies. I also have a snowglobe collection!

I used to collect seashells when I was younger I had an entire 400g tin Belgian collection (from M&S) just filled with them to the brim, but when we moved out of our grandparents' apartment, they were just gone, I think my grandfather threw them out a couple of years ago.
Since every time my family and I go back, I always look for that tin and I can never find it.

I now collect absolutely nothing.

I played The Messenger up to the point where the game shifts to 16-bit. But my PS4 died shortly after that, so I couldn't finish it (I was also playing Yakuza 0 and Shadow Tactics at the same time).

There's a few cards in Ikoria that I really want to try, like Neutralize, Skycat, Jubilant Skybonder and a couple white and green spells. I play Bant Spirits in Pioneer, so my deck is pretty much solved at this point. I only want to try some possible things that could eventually take a slot there. Or, I could simply finish my UW Flyers that is almost complete (only lacking Sephara and these 2 new UW creatures).

Can't go wrong with either - such sweet classics. I have the first few volumes of each cause I use them to practice my Japanese reading but they're so expensive in the US waiting for a friend to go to Japan so I can get more

Tbh I change what I collect allllllll the time!! Right now I collect tattoos on my body, but previously I loved to collect stuffed animals and clothes! It’s just all based on the mood of my life at the time.

I've collected plush and game/anime figures for three years now. A lot are in boxes because my display cabinet has no space.

Plushies, figures, etc. They're usually from things I really like such as Pokemon, but cute animals are okay too.
Also ahaha, any time I join a virtual pet/adoptable website, I turn into a hoarder. Does that count? XD

I used to collect gift cards from different stores! I don't really take them anymore because I feel like it looks like I'm stealing even though there's nothing on the card though lol! If i see a really cute one i will grab it though! I have a lot of the cool target ones that were like... different? Like the robot one if you guys know what I'm talking about I also sort of collect bookmarks-- I don't normally buy them, but I certainly have a collection. My school library, which I would go to during my off periods, had book marks that you could color if you wanted, and they would switch them up frequently and a lot of them were seasonal, so I have quite a few of those lol!!

My school library used to do that too! Now I'm in grad school and the public library near my school has printed bookmarks based on popular books (classics, harry potter, childrens books, etc). I like to stop and pick one up every month or so

So... yeah, this may be why my room looks like a game of Tetris...:

• Patterned pencils and unique pens (almost compulsive; I don't actually know why I collect them, but I keep ending up with more and more of them. At least I know I won't have to worry about running out of writing utensils! )
• Figurines (ie. Funko Pop, Tokidoki, Skylanders, etc.) (I like how they look)
• Beanie Babies (I've loved them since I was little. Nowadays, I look for the less common animals; I have a lemur, alligator, walrus, snail, and many more, but none of the new cats or dogs because their huge eyes make me uncomfortable.)
• Pokémon Plushies (I will never stop hunting for them; I will catch them all if I can)
• Rocks (but not your average everyday garden rock, more like precious/semi-precious stones and crystals. I like looking at them, and how they feel in the hand. I feel like a magpie. )
• Manga (I have AT LEAST 15-20 different series in my bookcase, and some of them are pretty long. I don't go after new titles until I have finished gathering all of the books in my current sets of series, which csb take a while if the books are hard to get ahold of.)
• Soft, patterned socks (again, I don't know why, and now I have too many pairs of socks)

I used to collect Funko Pop figures and took pictures of them and all... that was fun but I sold quite a lot of them now.
I also had a My Little Pony phase.
Now I collect Osomatsu-san merchandise because it's my favorite anime!
I guess you could also say I collect DVDs/Blu Rays of animated stuff? But I haven't gotten anything in a while.

There's also some franchises/brands that I really like, like Sanrio or San-X but I don't consider them "collections".

Used to be stuffed animals but I was running out of room so I just gave up. I collected the amiibo cards but now I'm done that too. So far, no new collections.
