What do you give your villagers for their birthday?

It depends entirely on their likes and the way their homes are decorated. It's mostly small household items and Mom items

Wrapped, expensive furniture. Nothing but the best for my children.

Gonna be honest...I usually forget. Then I will either scramble to find the best possible gift out of the items that I have in storage/displayed on the island...or I just don't bother giving a gift at all (it depends how much I like the islander)...lol

Usually I give them a piece of clothing that I think would look nice on them. Today was Doc's birthday and I gave him an extra Festivale clothing that I had in storage.

I usually keep my leftover cupcakes and gift them those or just a simple fruit.

Some clothes they will like or some furniture that suits their home. Though unfortunately I was too busy to log in to the game on the last villager birthday. Poor Zucker

Came here to get a guide, and wrapped fruit seems the way to go! it would be nice if you could give them flowers.

you can give them picked flowers, and they’ll display it in a vase on the floor.

I either do wrapped foreign fruit or clothing/furniture that fits their home. Usually the clothing and furniture, because I like feeling like I'm giving them a real present.

I give my villagers either clothing that I think would look good on them that they'd wear, or furniture that I think would fit their room.

It depends. If I’ve found something cute for them to wear that day then they get that. But mainly they get fruit

Usually a gift wrapped foreign fruit. Sometimes a wrapped iron wall lamp, if I haven't already given them a bunch prior.

I've only given some of them clothes that match their preferred color and/or style in the past, but to be honest, most of the time I haven't bothered because all of my residents are supposed to be permanent and giving them anything would ruin their houses. However, upon reading this thread, I'm going to start just giving them wrapped non-native fruit. Better than nothing.

I just end up giving them whatever's in my pocket because most of the time I forget to get them a gift by the time I am inside their home [without wrapping paper even! ] or if I don't find anything which matches their character, then I just get them flowers; fruits ,shells, bells, wallpaper/flooring [which sadly, they cant even use but meh].

Although ideally, whenever I am prepared enough, I would gift them what suits their characters and story.

I used to give items or furniture that matches their aesthetic and or homes for awhile since I didn't want to gift them something they wouldn't like but found that gifting them fruit is far more convenient and much easier at times. Will try and still gift them items ONLY if it matches and or goes well.
