Am I the only one who thinks it's unfair to hold an auction for something on a different site at the same time it's on TBT? (Reddit, AC Community, etc.) I think that it should be banned to do that. It might be, but if so, I've never seen anything done about it. I HATE when I see someone win an auction, but then the seller posts, "Sorry, someone on A.C. Community won the auction." Am I only one who thinks that this is an issue that needs to be addressed?

There's no way we can police what happens on another site. It's a scummy thing to do, but there's no way to enforce it.

I'm pretty sure it's banned on ACC
And I don't think it's bad, as long as they link to where they posted it on the other site..

Its their choice to do that or not they're just trying to maximize their profits in an auction.

But sometimes people lie about posting it on other sites, and say like
"Someone bid ___ on ___!"
Just so they can raise the bids, without proof that someone actually bid that amount.

that is also another way to maximize profits.

If they update the thread with the current bids, I think it's ok. If they don't and leave people guessing, I think they shouldn't be allowed to.

I've never really taken part in auctions...but honestly it doesn't really bug me.
Although, it is nice for them to include a link to the auction on the other site so there's proof of those bids.

If they linked it (if that's okay on TBT) to the thread, in would have no problem with then doing it. But I've been seeing a LOT of shifty members with negative feedback who never have any proof of another auction. If they can show proof of a current auction on another site, I'm okay with that. However, I have yet to see anyone actually prove that someone bid in another site. XD

I personally don't find it very fair--I think people should make their mind up and choose over doing it cross-site.

Advertisements aren't supposed to be in posts though so posting the links would be against the rules.

Well, I never thought I'd say this, but: I actually like that ACC banned having auctions on other sites at the same time. Sure they can't enforce them from having auctions in the other websites, but they can stop it on ACC.

Oh, and yes I think it's unfair when people do that. Greedy people...

Good for them for wanting to get the most out of their auction. I see nothing wrong with it tbh.

Nothing wrong with it? It's deception. Someone bidding on one site might think they've won, only to be told "nope, someone on another site that you had no idea about bid more than you therefore they win". It's wrong.

I don't like or encourage it. I think it's pretty low of them, tbh. I also believe that it is none of my business, and that it is the auctioneer's choice.

People shouldn't do that. They need to rely on only one site for auctioning an animal.

If someone isn't gonna update the thread with a current winning bid from someone on another site then that's just bad auctioning on their part. I'm saying that wanting to make more money isn't a bad thing lol.

I don't have a problem with it, but it's unfair if the auctioneer is lying about other-forum bids just to get higher profits. And unfortunately there is no way to tell :(

I really don't see anything wrong with it as long as they link the thread where the auction is taking place on a different site. If they don't post it then I don't think it should be allowed.

Jennifer, a mod, has said that posting the link is against the rules here. Same for ACC probably.
