What is your biggest worry?

I don't have many worries about the game itself, but more of a personal worry.

When New Leaf came out 8 years ago, I was 15 years old. I was still young, still bright-eyed and still heavily into video games. Animal Crossing was my favorite series of all time. I spent HOURS on this game a day. It was my passion for a good 1-2 years and I was suuuper hyperfixated on it. I loved it.

I'm worried now, that I'm 23, I won't love it as much. I'm older and my interest in my old passions and hobbies have dwindled due to the adult responsibilities weighing down on me. I am SO excited for this game (it's been a while since I've counted down to something!) but I worry that once I play it, I'll enjoy it for a week, and then move on like I have been with all the other games I've been playing.

I surely hope this doesn't happen as Animal Crossing is an amazing escape for me and I don't think my love for the series can ever die, but it's still a worry I have.

We're really similar, in age (I'm turning 23 later this year) and in more responsibilities and having less time/interest in old hobbies. I can tell you that a lot of video games I used to be really into has died down since starting college and worrying about money and having more weighing on me, but once Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX came out, after (5?) years of not having a mystery dungeon game to play and it was a remake of the originals, it really brought me back in and I'm as addicted to it as I used to be. My point is, I understand your worry, but things like this can happen where one good thing can pull you back in. Animal Crossing is a great series and I think if you loved the previous games, there's a high chance it'll be the same again when New Horizons comes out! I know we're different people, but I just wanted to maybe ease some of the worry you have. :)

Walmart will sell you disposable Androids for about $35

Yeah, I've seen those. Maybe they're better now, but last I looked, the cost to actually have service on those pre-paids is more than I'm paying. I'm on a Verizon pre-paid flip phone that only costs me $100/year. It's a grandfathered plan, meaning you actually can't get it anymore if you didn't already have it. I don't call or text people much and I haven't found any smartphones that is anywhere close to what I'm paying. The best I've found is like $35/month and that's a ton more than I'm paying ($35x12 month = $420).

I think I'd prefer to keep my cruddy phone and get a tablet. The tablet will let me use apps like a phone, but it also has a bigger screen than phones do. Helpful if I want to watch movies on the go or something.

Oh, no. I'm not recommending you get service with them or use them as a daily phone. Just recommended them as a means to use the Nintendo app.

You don't necessarily need service though, if you need Internet, you could simply connect to wifi. That's what I did with a cheap phone I bought for other things, I just connected it to my wifi when I needed it and never actually got service on it.

I’m worried there might not be enough to do with friends. I play this game with a friend from out of state and I want there to be plenty to keep us playing together!

Okay, wow there has been a lot of posts on this whilst I slept!

Krissi2197 - I also started playing Animal Crossing when I was about 16. I'm 28 (29 this year) now and I definitely don't feel any different about the game. Having said that, I have continued to game. It's an important relaxation in my life. I think you will feel the same happiness and escapism when playing ACNH. With the added bonus of nostalgia!

Calsamurai - So you would be disappointed with just 10 villagers? I don't want my island too over crowded. I like a lot of open space with trees and flowers and now furniture. So I think I would be happy with 10 but more than 10 would mean more people to talk to :)

Winona - I am also worried about how Corona will effect shop sells and dispatch times. I really hope everyone is able to get their hands on a copy. I really want a physical copy but worst case scenario; I will just download a digital copy.

Fayde - That's a really good point about the cafe and Brewster! I don't think I've seen anything about Brewster yet and I really loved going to the cafe to relax and talk to him :)

Chocos - Yeah I also want to see swimming come back. Especially considering it is a getaway island! Swimming and diving just seems perfect for it!

Vrisnem - That's a pretty good idea! Going in blind means you are not affect by others opinion. You won't be biased and you can just enjoy the game according to your own feelings.

Ley - That is so sad to hear you might feel so overwhelmed that you'll just stop playing :( I don't want that to happen! Perhaps when you start feeling that way come on to these forums and talk to us. Maybe someone can help give you direction :)

Niko2 - Well the 20th is a friday which I find interesting. Does that mean we will see Redd straight away or will his behaviour be different this time? I'm intrigued.

Irishchai - Surely not. Surely you just need one game between 2 switches? The save data is on the switch right? So you should be able to use the same cartridge on another console?

Rainy Day - Okay that is a very valid point. It's fantastic to be able to place furniture outside; but what if there is a limit!? Like only 50 items. That would be horrible.

It looks like a fantastic game, but I do have a few concerns:

1. The villagers. This was one thing that brought NL down for me. Everything about NL was a major improvement over CF... Except for the villagers. They still suffered from the repetition of CF. You'd think after nearly two decades we could expect the villagers to be more unique and more in depth, but that just isn't the case and that's sad. I was really attached to my villagers in the GCN version.

2. Stuff to do with friends. Nintendo has spent so much time showing the new system where multiple people play together at once, but... there isn't much to it, and no real activities have been shown that we can do with each other that are anything beyond the standard Animal Crossing gameplay. I notice, not even the balls are interactable beyond a bouncing animation. Why, Nintendo? You bring the balls back, and they're just static objects that can't even be played with?

There doesn't seem to be anything special to do with other people, and that's sad. But then again, if Nintendo wants to keep on making their games' online play subpar thus making the crappy paid NSO service even less desirable, that's okay with me. Lol.

3. Are there no ceiling objects? HHD added them. Not carrying them onto NH is baffling.
