Similar to the topic created about rap music, what is your opinion on country music?

I know not many people like country but I am interested in knowing the general opinion of TBT users.

I love country, even if people say I don?t look like someone who would love country music.

If it's like older more pop/folk country and not the stereotype "I love my girl but she left with someone in a truck who plays banjo" kind I'm fine.

I love Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley. Outside of those it's a genre I'm not that fussed about either way.

I dislike most country music (I'm British so that might be part of it) but I absolutely love Kacey Musgraves; she's a bit more country-pop crossover but she's amazing - I highly recommend her latest album Golden Hour!

I don't like it compared to other music styles I listen to, but in the summer me and my friends will occasionally blast it while we're out driving around at night

It's one of my least favorite genres. I live in the southern US and grew up with parents who listened to country 24/7, so I've heard plenty of it. There are a few exceptions, some songs with deeper stories or darker sounds, that I do like, but in general I don't care for it.

I've gone to Texas many times to visit my BF and I can never get into country music whenever I hear it on the radio or at a bar or something. Ain't a fan at all lol

It's a completely unlikable genre of music for me and I wish it would stop being forced on me everywhere (I live in the South, unfortunately).

I like country-related music like John Denver and bluegrass, but country itself is awful.

I don't really like New Country music. Sounds too polished and clean. If Johnny Cash is considered Country, then I like some of the older sounding country music with a rockabilly vibe.

Not a fan, but if someone's playing it I'll deal. Although Jimmy Buffett isn't that bad once in a while.

I guess he could be considered that, but that country I like indeed if such. I just dislike the hillbilly and more modern stuff.

Never been a big fan of it.
I've always lived in the South, so I grew up hearing a lot of it, especially as it was a family tradition to play country songs. Older country songs, like those by Johnny Cash, I would honestly admit I like. However, the current country pop stuff talking about tractors, trucks, and girls is just garbage.
