what’s one thing from previous games are you hoping DOESN’T get added to new horizons?

New Horizons is my introduction to the franchise, so I don't know all the nuances in previous games. From what little information about the previous installments that I've absorbed from being on the forums, though, I'm so grateful that villagers randomly packing their bags up without asking you first and moving out is no longer an occurrence. For villagers I'm cycling, I like to receive their photo before accepting their request to move out. I also try to time move-outs before the weekend, so I'm not in a rush while I go island hopping. xD

Kind of going off what I said about the Café, Brewster is about as useful as the café. In previous games, the Café was a place to go to hear K.K. Slider perform. Brewster was just a background character that added some functionality to the room. In New Leaf, making the Café its own building was were things got kind of purposeless. He would serve you coffee, and you could spend some time giving villagers coffee, but it was so minimal, its likely not something that Nintendo should focus on bringing back.

yes, i get that they serve basically no purpose, but it'd be something to do.
a lot of people have quit playing the game because of lack of content and daily things to do. just adding something like brewster, even if not everybody's gonna enjoy it, adds a greater depth to the game imo. in NL (and other previous games) there was a plethora of different NPCs and little things in the game that are completely absent in NH.
Now... if brewster came back - whether as a part of the museum or his own building - i'd love that, it's a shame he hasn't been added yet.

I also don't want the return of scheduled villager visits! I either need them to come over right now or just not at all, because I *will* forget and then they'll get mad at me. I also wasn't massively into gyroids but I know other people like them so I'm not necessarily opposed to their return, as much as I hate digging them up every time it rains

lyle is this freaky otter-dude who has an extremely long freaky neck and gives you your HHA score. but he also has a super weird creepy way of talking and overall he's just kinda disgusting imo
at least he's an upgrade from the HHA in NH, because you have to ask for your score and you can ignore it alltogether if you wish

hm i only ever had new leaf so i can't really say much. i wouldn't care for lyle coming back though i wouldn't care if he did either.

i'd like unannounced villager visits back, but not in the way they were in new leaf. like give us the option to say no i'm busy.

oh i'd hate for jellyfish to come back. there was really no reason to have something that would bother you while diving and i'm glad they got rid of it and made it a creature instead.

i would love it if kapp'n never shows his face again or at least they cool it with his creepiness. i hated interacting with him so much, you are a MARRIED MAN SIR

theres just something about them that makes me want to throw my switch into the lake
if it were just their items, it would be fine. no biggie. but villagers? a bit overboard if you ask me.

This is going to be EXTREMELY unpopular...but villagers being mean. I never found it cute. I never found it funny. I found it annoying and it put the villagers that were especially mean (looking at you, pre-NL snooties) on my immediate moveout list. I’m glad that villagers have gotten softer, so it would be a great disappointment to me if they backtracked to the obnoxious personalities they had before.

I am not against them having more dialogue. I am not against them getting more character development. I would LOVE for villagers to have more personality. I AM against them being so obnoxious at first that I want to push them out the door before I can start warming them up.

- The way villagers would sometimes mention an item, often rare furniture, bugs, fish, etc in your inventory then proceed to basically steal it from you and there's nothing you could do about it.

- Playing the game for literal months but still have villagers say things like "You can shake trees by pressing A!" I ALREADY FIGURED THAT OUT, ANTONIO.

- Grass deterioration. Or at least make it grow back quicker and maybe make it so fertiliser can also regrow grass.

- Lyle speaking too much. I'm okay with him being in the game but he becomes really obnoxious way too quickly.

- Villagers coming into your house completely unannounced. I get that it was supposed to happen because you had a high friendship level or something, but they're pretty tedious.

- Club Lol being completely empty during the day, if it's ever going to be added in the first place that is. It's way too awkward in NL to see Shrunk just kinda standing there doing nothing.
Maybe if it does get added to NH, villagers can enter during the day and help prepare for K.K.'s performance by like I dunno, sweeping the floor or something else completely useless?

I hope Dr. Shrunk never makes an appearance in the game, but we still get the shrunk funk shuffle and it's just labeled as "dancing" like in pocket camp.

i made a whole list of all the features missing between NL and NH (that i could remember) and the only thing on it i wouldn't want to return is villagers wanting to set a time for visits to their/your house. it always drove me nuts when they asked me to pick a time that was an hour away because i wasn't likely to be playing then and if i was, i'd only forget, so i always had to turn them down. hopefully if they bring back villager visits, they leave out the appointment times.
