What’s the longest you’ve had a villager without getting their picture?

I've had Merry since March. I still don't have her picture, and I was giving her wrapped non-native fruit constantly. Even tried the stacked fruit trick and that didn't work. I feel like she's trying to spite me.

Here is a tip that can help out. Try giving your villagers Iron Wall Lamps wrapped up in gifts. It has worked for me most of the time when getting villager photos. Do not worry about the items messing up their interior. Villagers can't put wall items in their homes for some reason so it would mess with the interior. They will always be happy getting it no matter what personality they are.

Shoot. I never got Claudia, Bertha or Rooney's photo. I let Rooney go before I really got interested in collecting them, and with Bertha for as MUCH as I absolutely love her and would take her back in a heart beat on the island I plan to make when I get a switch lite... I had to chose between her and Wolfgang when he stopped by my campsite. And Wolfgang is just my heart. I love him. So she had to go before I got her photo. Claudia I wanted to move so that I could hunt for Diana. So when she asked to move, I let her.
I really only regret not getting Bertha's photo though and wish I had it. I loved her.
As for the others, no one on my Island except for Beau and Julian have given me their photos. Leonardo gave me his before he left, which I'm glad for. 'Cause while I didn't -want- him on my Island, I do like him enough to want to remember him.
I really wish the others would give me their photos. I've been trying for so long with Villagers like Audie, Katt, Zucker, Poppy & Nana. They've all been on my island pretty much from the start and have just been holding out on me.

i started at launch and i didnt get any for months because i didnt know how it worked until like...maybe september?

I mean, it can be a bit tedious to do it every single day lol. I wish there were more ways to get it.
In all honesty what I'd LOVE to see is favorite stuff come back. Like if you give them things that are their favorites, you have a higher chance of them giving you a good item or the photo in return.

Since may 15th, (when I created the new leaf town I have today) Curly is the only starter that didn't give me his pic yet. Bunnie gave me her pic on the 20th, Pudge gave me his sometime in June I forgot what day, and Gayle and Pecan gave me theirs on the same day in july. So since I started, that's almost 9 months without his picture. Everyone else I already have there pic minus mint, and Margie, but Margie moved in in late August, and mint moved in in September, so I'll get them sooner than later.
To anyone who's just reading this thread for the first time, this is an old thread, and the advice given on the first couple pages is now outdated. As of (I think) the 1.4 update, a gift has to be worth at least 750 bells in order to have a chance of getting a photo in return, so just a single foreign fruit won't cut it anymore. Gotta wrap two of them in a stack together if that's what you want to use.
I use a wrapped stack of three pumpkins, because it's the most convenient way to do it now. I gift them every day and it generally takes about a month to get a photo, but obviously bad luck can drag it out longer sometimes.

Gahhh for me it's Diana and Wolfgang...
I have had both of them for ages. Diana I have had the longest out of the two. Still no pictures. Having said that, I'm the one to blame because I haven't really being giving them gifts and stuff, so that's probably why... I'm too focused on decorating my island to worry about thinking what to gift a villager.
Going to start working on it though. I really want their pictures for my collection.
