What's your comfort restaurant?

In my province there are gas station/truck stops scattered across the country called Big Stops, owned by the Irvings, one of the wealthiest families in Canada. At each one there is a restaurant and each of them serves comfort food and has a very “homey” feel. Their fries are so good, and their gravy is also awesome, so I often find myself ordering a hot hamburger sandwich with fries from there. The sad part is that all I’m doing by eating there is making the wealthiest family in the province more wealthy. They own most of the media outlets and are in the pockets of most politicians in the area. But damn, those fries

It’s not large by a long shot, but The Red Skillet in my town is SO GOOD! It always has the stuff I love, and they make sugar cookies with royal icing all the time, so I get those a lot with my meal. They also have seasonal smoothies as a healthy option which I would get with my friends after a long day.

I worked at Red Lobster for 10+ years, I worked there with my mom and I had a good time. I ate the food while i worked there, and I still do (I think that says a lot about it). But whenever I had something good happen, I would go and eat there with my mom and it reminds me of all the friends I made there too. I love going back there and still knowing the menu and I love seafood, so its very much my favorite or comfort place to eat.

I seldom eat out now and don't have a comfort restaurant at the moment but back during my university days, there is a comfort restaurant that I would always go to. The restaurant name is called 'Tian Tian Lai', which means come everyday in direct translation. It's a family restaurant and serve dishes meant for more than one people to eat but they do have single meals for single customers. I would always go with my university mates or house mates to the restaurant as it is within walking distance from my rented house and university. My favourite dish was tofu cooked with minced pork in glutinous brown sauce It's so reliable that if I was stressed with university and wanted to eat something delicious to lighten my mood, it's the place to go.

Panera's mac and cheese is to die for! I also really love their broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl!

It used to be Domino's but now it's a local pizza place, Woodland Pizza. Their chicken parm and sausage grinders are so good.
Also Red Lobster, I could eat the biscuits all day.

hot pot!! is SO comforting. OH and there's this mediterranean place that my family LOVES going to! it's called aladdin and it has over a thousand reviews yet still holds a whopping 4.7 rating or something. it's sooooooo good and i literally have not eaten something that i didn't like. falafels, hummus, wraps, tabouleh, dolma, spinach boraks, everything. (i don't eat meat, but even the meat looks HELLA good). they also have these curly fries that i'm positive top arby's curly fries.

not a restaurant but i went to a pub pretty frequently, ive been going there for like 10 years and ever since i turned 18 i was going at night. sometimes i go (i mean i havent since corona) in the day to eat their chicken platter or nachos cuz theyre sooooooooo good

There's this local place, Kogii Kogii Express that does bibimbap and stuff for fast and cheap. I've heard their wings are good, but I'm always too full! I get mine with bulgogi, pickled radish, kimchi, sweet cucumber, carrot, and fish cake! And of course fried egg and a bunch of gochujang. I sort of switch between comfort foods (Subway is another one, as well as Wendy's chicken nuggets), but that's the one I always want when I'm really going through it. Not only does it remind me of eating with my darling, but it's always a really fulfilling hot meal.

They also have a $5.99 bibimbap special but the toppings are more limited so I couldn't get pickled or kimchi stuff so we have to suffer through paying an extra $3-4.

I loooooove going to Marco and Luca’s, it’s a dumpling place near my university. They have fried dumplings, sweet and sour noodles, and sesame noodles that I would literally die for.

The classier answer is this local indian restaurant that makes the best chana masala I’ve ever had!! It’s expensive, but it’s a really nice treat.

The truest answer is Mcdonalds, where I drunkenly order a double filet-o-fish with extra tartar sauce at 2AM at least once every couple of months :, )

It's never busy there but their ramen and chicken karaage just can't be beaten

There's a small, family-owned Japanese restaurant about ten minutes from where I live, and it is so good. My family doesn't go out to eat very often, but this is always our first choice ^^ I usually order ginger pork, kimchi pork, or a bento box

Honestly, I'm with some other people on here - McDonald's. I freaking love the stuff.
