MUST have Alfonso, but I have his amiibo! Luckily he's not a well sought after villager so his card was cheap and easy to get!
I would also love Molly because I love mallard ducks. I'm more so looking forward to meeting the animals that have been added since wild world

very nice! i have to look through everyone and it's going to be hard to choose with limited numbers on our islands considering there's hundreds to choose from! i have some affordable ones to buy but most of my best ones are bunnies and cats especially.. and a lot of cats are very expensive :^( i'm thinking of trying to find people who resell handmade amiibo cards for the characters i want since they'd probably be sold a lot less and all same price

but honestly i dont want to get any of my dreamy characters on my island so soon. i want to just see who i have in my town and maybe grow some new bonds/favorites.

i'm trying to buy those too! i just hate buying 1 thing at a time, i'm sort of a bulk buyer and hate having to purchase one at a time or one from several different people. it's hard to find the right sellers who have what i'm looking for AND are willing to sell them at good/low prices and not ridiculously high

it's okay! amiibo cards are just a backup for if you don't really get the villagers you want and i'm sure most people will be using them much later in game. plus, that's what the forums are for- to help us get the things we want in our towns and islands! squirrels are cute, hope to get some too!

I bought amiibo cards of Chrissy, Francine, Skye, Wolfgang and Gladys. The first two are certainly moving in, the wolves depend on if I can get Fang. I also want to keep spaces open for surprising islanders. Maybe animals that fit certain themes. Like ducks can live in a themed area with a lot of water features. Wolves in the forest, eagles in the mountains. I dunno. But for sure Chrissy and Francine.

i love your idea of organizing specific villagers in certain areas like that, if it really is possible to choose where every villager lives, i may do something just like that too! <3 chrissy and francine are very pretty bunnies indeed

Trying to win a cheap Julian card off Ebay right now, but probably won't get any more after. He's the only one I for sure want! I'd love to see Phoebe, Tia, and Drago again, but I'd like to meet some new friends too--maybe Diana, I love the deer but haven't really kept any around...

might be different this time? lots of time to choose and since we're limited to one island, i'm sure we'll change islanders a lot more so you just might enjoy a deer for some time! julian is nice~ i think my favorite horse is cleo tho! muffy is cute, i love the sheeps, just wish they had them keep their floof

Mixing a cute character design with a trait generally on the opposite spectrum is a good contrast

I hope this isn't a super basic answer, but.. Marshal <3 He moved in back when I first started playing New Leaf (got it day of release) and he was one of my first random villagers. He moved in right next to me, perfectly lined up with my house. I instantly adored him, and he's been a must have for every town I've made ever since. I had no idea he was so popular at the time, hehe~ he's definitely a sentimental villager for me.

Other than Marshal, I definitely need Genji, Daisy and/or Lolly on my island. I have a lot of other favorites I'd gladly move in, but I want most of my villagers to be random. Amiibos killed some of the fun for me in New Leaf, so I gotta control myself this time.

understandable! and how lucky is that for him to move right next to you annnd perfectly lined up with your home? seems to me like it was probably meant to be! :3 i'm sure you'll be able to get marshall here if you don't have his card, i dont have any of my important villagers card LMAO. tragic :^( anyway lolly and genji are super nice too, but going with the random this time is no harm, after all, we've all got lots of time to perfect our islands "for real"

Teddy, Stitches, and Hornsby are the three I almost certainly want to have on my island. Based on past games, I’m also quite fond of Maple and Pudge; I’ll almost certainly include Maple, but I’m a little worried about how many lazy villagers I really want to have (they may be my favorite personality type, but I don’t want everyone repeating the same dialogue), so I may hold off on Pudge for a while and see what I think of the town. I have Amiibo cards for all five of them.

I want a definitive confirmation of how many villagers I can have before I make a final decision. I do want some new villagers as well, so I’m looking for a balance of old favorites and new ones, although there are a couple other animals from my ACNL town that I’m contemplating hunting down Amiibo cards for. Unlike a lot of other people, I have no regrets about my Amiibo card usage in ACNL, and I did feel that it enhanced my experience, so I have every intention of using my cards again.

heckie yeah!! go for it, the purpose of amiibo cards was to enjoy the villagers and do your own free cycling after all, ya paid for them stuffs!! i want to buy amiibo cards soon i just haven't found the right seller and the trading department has brought me no luck- no willing sellers either it seemed. i wouldn't want one specific type in my town either with personalities bc that would be too wack lmao i hope we can have more than 10 tho
