Who's into houseplants?

I love succulents and airplants the most since they are fairly low maintenance. I also think it's really cool how they propagate, so you basically never have to spend money to replace them!

I have golden pothos growing on my fish tanks. Also have many aquatic plants I grow and sell. Do those count?
Also planted a while back some buganvilias and those always make me smile.
(my pet bird of 15 years , that I have had since I was 9 years old passed away and I decided to do a flower pot burial to remember)

You're not alone in being crazy! I love talking to my plants. They're tillandsia and so they aren't potted and this allows me to handle them directly. Especially when I give them their weekly soaking in a tub. So I feel rather close to them, like they're pets and not just plants that stay in one place all the time. 😆 When I get too excited or agitated, talking to my plants helps calm me down. ❤🤪

Reviving! I've gotten some new plants in the past few weeks. Two weeks ago I got some airplants, they're two different types thou idk which type they are. Also today I got a tradescantia. I'm gonna leave it separated from my other plants for like two days just incase I see any bugs on it, but then I'll put it in my window or somewhere a little bit sunny.

I LOVE houseplants but my cat also loves them, for different reasons.

I plan to get into outdoor gardening a little since I just purchased a house. My cat is indoors only. My plants will be outdoors only. 😆

I got into houseplants 2years ago and converted a friend to it hahaha. We went to some little shops and markets to get new ones and our « family » grew pretty quickly ^^ I’m not into collections at all so it’s still in control, i have around 20 pots, but it includs lots of propagated ones.
What i have so far :

- Parlour Palm called George. He’s my very first plant and suffered quite a bit because in his first week i mistakenly poured an entire glass of white vinegar on him thinking it was water 8’) ...... but he’s surviving! And a new leaf is coming so yay George!!!
- Trandescantia Zebrina called Marceline. My second plant who grows WAY TOO MUCH, so i have to cut her every 6months to re-organize the mess haha...
- Pothos (x3 because propagated). Loooove pothos!! They’re so easy to care for and climb everywhere, love them very much!
- Monstera Adansonii (x2 because propagated). This one is very very loved too! My colleagues were freaking out because they didnt know the holes in the leaves were normal hahaha. I really have a soft spot for climbing plants <3
- Prayer Plants (x2) Those ones are also my favorites, love the colors, seeing them moving throughout the day, their climbing nature too, loooove them <3
- Pilea Pepperomioides (x3 because propagated) this one is from my friend that i adopted during corona and it made 2 little babies 💕 The mother plant is a bit weird because she grew super high (we didnt have much light in the flat we were when i got her). Do you know if i can cut the head and replant it? So i’ll have a lower plant? I don’t want to kill her just because she doesnt look perfect haha...
- Sanseveria. This one grew a lot too and i’m super happy about it! Super easy to care for too.
- Dracenae. Soooo easy to care for and so full of beautiful white striped leaves. They have a very « tropical shape » haha! I got two in one pots and i’m super happy with it 🌿
- Fiddle leaf Fig. My latest addition that i bought to celebrate the end of a movie production (i always offer myself a little gift at the end of a job haha) I’m madly in love with those plants since i started buying plants! Sooo happy to have one of them, and even happier to see it thriving in our flat! We got 3 new beautiful leaves in two months time! And mayyybe another one is preparing itself, can’t wait!
- Calathea Leopardina. This one was sick when i bought it and lost a lot of leaves in a short amount of time... she’s less bushy now but she’s making new leaves so go plant!!
- Ficus Elastica Variegata. This one doesn’t have much leaves and grew a lot in height so looks funny hahaha. Made lots of new leaves tho! And one more is on its way 💕
- A little succulent who bravely survived the not so sunny previous flat and is now thriving!

- Avocado i planted last winter, growing a lot! Hope it will love this summer :3
- Will soon plant apple seeds, hopefully they’ll grow! I’ll share the progress here!

In general i just love looking a new leaves growing, it’s relaxing and makes me happy to see my plants happy 😊

I found my people 🥺

I’ve been a houseplant enthusiast for a frw years and can’t even pinpoint which ones I like best... currently every single flat surface in my room is covered in houseplants ( about 55) but if it weren’t for the physical lack of space there would be tons more. Once I move to a different place with more windows and space I will go ham 😂

I’m mostly interested in more exotic looking foliage plants. I appreciate blossoms but wouldn’t buy e.g. an orchid on purpose. Some of my favourite plant types are:

🌱 hoya (my hoya tricolor and mathilde splash are my faves atm)

🌱 alocasia (in particular my silver dragonand regular dragon scale)

🌱caladium (fave: caladium florida clown)

🌱 anthurium (clarinervium is love)

🌱 philodendron (all of them lol)

... I could go on and on 😂
I’m particularly attached to the plants I propagated from tiny stem cuttings or nursed back to life from the brink of death. In the future I’d love to own bigger, bushier plants but I need to keep them small for the time being...

I wish I could get into house plants. Maybe one day i will, but i can’t seem to keep them alive. I have one bonsai that’s held on for dear life and i’ve been trying to kill it off.

I would love more greenery plants like pathos and snake plants. I love snake plants and the different variations of them, but i just don’t have the ability to keep them alive at this point in my life.

One day though! I love a cozy room with plenty of plants. It really makes it feel more fresh and comfy

I think pothos and succulents are good 'beginner' plants. I have 2 pothos that were growing very well outside (like my one is literally 5 feet long stems) but once the shade sail got taken down, they BURNED in the blasting sun. There were still some healthy leaves left so I put them in a shadier area and they've been recovering. Since they stay outside I don't water them too often cause they get rain water. It rains here often.

My succulents haven't died unless they've been sun burned (not all succulents like alot of sun like some others do, learned that the hard way), over watered, under watered (not a typical problem I have here) or somethin was already wrong with them when I got them. Some of mine have been thriving in the blazing sun I get here.

It depends on what kind of sunlight you get. I have various areas around my house that get different amounts of light, so I can buy a variety of light plants. As far as indoor plants, they def need like a sunny window or somethin. I had pothos in my room before that grew fine, but I didn't aways remember to water it, so outside it went. I find that plants that are advertised as indoor still need a source of sunlight, artificial isn't enough, so I almost always end up putting them outside.

I really love mini trees, like Bonsais! I used to have some as kid, but now with the cats it's pretty much impossible for me to have any plants in the house. They are going to destroy anything green they can find :(

I'm gonna get a bonsai tree when I move into my new place. Don't have the window bed in my dorm ;;

Bumping this :p

Today I bought a Blue Star Fern, my first fern plant. It's advertised as needing low to high indirect sunlight, so hopefully it'll do well in my room. I plan on putting it by my north facing window, even thou the window has blinds on it. I mean, my monstera is growing well in my room, and those typically like some sunlight. It's in an area where no sunlight reaches, so it must like the artificial light or somethin.

Target partnered with Hilton Carter and he has a collection with Target, thou it 's pretty wiped now since it must have been so popular. That's the collection I got my new plant from. Alot of the plants weren't in the best shape; the succulents needed water and the other ferns, pachira and pothos had dead and browning leaves. The one I picked out looked the most healthy, so I hope it survives in my room. There was also some ZZ plants, I've read those can be resilient. I already have a ZZ plant thou, a black one too, so I like getting plants I don't already have.

I love all plants. House or otherwise. I'm currently growing a Japanese red maple from a seedling. I really want to try to grow my own bonsai tree. I know it's a lot of trial and error and most people admit to losing plants in the beginning. But, it's something I always wanted to do. So...I'm doing it. We have a lot of these little seedlings popping up in the yard from the one big tree that we have. So, I potted one up about two weeks ago. So far, so good. I haven't killed it yet. Lol.

Houseplants are absolutely amazing and could easily add some class to an otherwise trashy room. I like the ones that hang out off the plants, not sure what they are called. They are very Vineyard like.

i love my houseplants!! my partner is way more into them than i am; most of my plants are outdoor plants. but the ones i do have i love to pieces!

i have a string of pearls and a china doll, both of which are doing very well! the china doll i've had several years, but the string of pearls is only a few months old, though it's growing very quickly and seems to be thriving <3

I don’t buy new plants too often, but I just picked up a small string of hearts yesterday (the variegated kind so it’s pink) and a pathos neon. This will be my third pathos I think I have a problem.
