Who's into houseplants?

Naturally, I love cactuses. I don’t think I’d own any though. Admittedly, I learned the names of most houseplants from Animal Crossing, and I’m able to identify most of them in real life.

I think they're great but I'm afraid of accidently killing them. So I just bought some artificial succulents, they look really nice actually

I keep a lot of low maintenance plants on my balcony that do well on their own, mainly desert rose and a few succulents because they are suited for my climate, my favourite being euphorbia trigona and euphorbia lactea. I don't buy plants often so I tend to keep propagating these because they grow so big haha. I'm also into plants that just grow out of control because I like that look 😂 I have cypress vine growing on a potted dead tree I was too lazy to salvage and now it looks like the tree is alive again.

I used to have several bonsai trees. My ex accidentally killed them all. He killed the first 3 by not leaving them alone and being overzealous about trimming/feeding/watering/wiring to grow a certain way/repotting...everything really. He had so far not managed to kill my beloved Japanese Holly, which I felt might actually be indestructible, so I asked him to leave it alone. He took that too literally and didn't water it during the summer whilst I was away with work for about 10 days. I was upset, it had just begun getting actual blossom that year too.

I'll get another one someday. I mostly got them to feel like I had some kind of nature whilst stuck in a grotty tiny windowed flat, with no outside area at all, in a grim part of the city. I have a garden now, so I haven't felt much of an urge to have proper houseplants beyond flowers. I have always wanted a bonsai with red foliage though, so I think that will be my first official house plant.

I have a couple plants in my room but I'm always conflicted between buying them because they look nice and admitting I'm too forgetful to give them water 🙈 My favourite I have on my shelf right now is a "lava plant" , it's one of those plants that grows out of a lava rock and I really like the aestethic of it;

i love them but i dont have a good space to care for them atm. one day id love to have my living space full of plants :3 i think theyre great company lol

I love my houseplants! I have an aloe plant and a cactus plant, the aloe one I've only had since 2018 (I think?) and the cactus plant has been in my house for about 10 years, it used to be in a tiny pot but has grown a TON and has survived being knocked over twice.

I really like house plants, but I have 4 cats, so keeping them is very difficult when your pets are trying to eat them and pull them off shelves. I ended up buying very realistic-looking fake plants.
