In my signature is a town which I called “Toy Day.”
It is Christmas-themed.
I chose five species with two villagers applicable to each. Now, truly Winter-y villagers I selected were: deer Erik and Fauna; werewolves Freya and Skye; gorillas Boyd and Hans. I also selected penguins Wade and Roald.
The hamster Flurry is very much a winter villager/islander.
I think most of the werewolves, who have birthdays in December, are applicable.
Same with a lot of the deer.
Applicable as well with the gorillas.
Among the species which are not usually winter-y are the horses, the cows, the frogs, and the ducks. Likewise the elephants.

Agreed, sorry about Erik by the way. I'm wondering why you didn't pick Whitney by the way?
I tried to not repeat villagers in any of my other public towns.
I could not avoid that with Erik and Fauna. (It was inconceivable to not include them in a Christmas-themed town.)
Erik and Fauna are in one of my towns, Koopie, which I kept frozen on the town date May 31, 2016, for the pricing of the turnips. So, I could not move that town’s date.
Whitney is in my third town, Foster, which has perhaps the most appealing town map. So, she’s lucky in that respect.
In selecting werewolves, I had not established having Freya and Skye—so in Toy Day the went.
Oh, that makes more sense, at least she got lucky to be in the best town map
