I remember it all like yesterday lol

My neighbor came over with her DS and I asked her what she was playing. She said "I'm playing a game called Animal Crossing Wild World." I said, "Wow, that looks fun! Can I try?" She happily handed me her DS, and once I started playing, I fell in love with it.

Thats when I started playing the AC games. I remember how excited I was to finally buy my 3DS lol. And here I am, 8 years later playing it, lol.

Anyways...What's your story?

My sister's were playing it and I didn't want to be left out. So I checked it out and it was fun. Wasn't till new leaf that I actually got my own game and system.

I have been playing sense I was little but became hooked aback in may 2017 when I started watching a few of SimplyPressStarts videos, I was hooked! I instantly went on amazon and was begging my sister to get it for me (idk my I asked her, also she ordered my first fidget spiner that same day so keep that in mind) and she kept saying no. Then either my dad over heard it or I told him I forgot, and if I’m correct m6 sister found a 15 dollar one, and my dad handed me or my sister I also forgot a 5 dollar bill, and said “buy him the game” and it ended up getting destroyed by my dog this March. I was so sad. But I got a new one in April and surpassed what I got too in Hyrule 1.0. I still have both cases.

I haven't been playing for that long at all. I found out about Animal Crossing a few years back in the Wild World day through my best friend. We were using her DS and she let me play Wild World for a while. It wasn't until years later that my brother got hooked on playthrough videos of ACNL and I recognised the game. I'd heard about ACNL through my best friend, and also through one saleperson at EB Games who was fanboying over ACNL to me for some random reason lol, so I thought I'd try it out for myself. I got a 3DS for my birthday and a copy of ACNL for Christmas that year :)

When we were 10/11 years old, my best friend just got new leaf on her 3ds. She pretty much convinced me to get it too so we could play together. Since then I have fell in love w/ the game and still play it 5 years later <3

My son, then aged about 5, played a lot from the Game Cube on. I started to play when Wild World came out as I only like to play on hand held consoles, I have played and loved the game ever since.

I still play with my son, now 20 years old, and his girl friend who are both still playing regularly.

Escapism. Because you can't lean on alcohol when you are also getting prepared for entrance exams and I didn't have many calming/distracting activity options that requires minimum time and effort at the time. I started to play less and less after a month or two though, upon solving stuff. Then after 1 year hiatus I'm currently playing again at times for nostalgic feels

I began playing back in 2005 on the GC. I saw an ad on TV and thought it looked fun. I've played WW and CF, but didn't really click with them. I took a shot when NL came out and found the same fun I had with GC.

I haven't touched my GC game in years, and can only imagine the disaster my town has become, but I might clean it up, one of these days. In the meantime, I'm still loving my NL town and now looking forward to seeing what is done with the Switch.

my sisters friend told my sister to play animal crossing wild world. i saw my sister playing it and instantly wanted the game, i got the game and fell in love with it!

I was introduced to Animal Crossing through a friend when we were in elementary school. I remember being enthralled by how simple, calm, and adorable the villagers were and I dove headfirst into the series. Later in life, my reason for playing would become a means to deal with anxiety.

I played AC on Gamecube whenever I visited my friend's place. I didn't know about it but she kept insisting so I played and enjoyed it! My family had money problems so I could only play once a week at her place and eventually when we became more financially stable, my parents bought my brother and I a Nintendo Wii so I played ACCF as well :)

My story is real different from the ones already posted here. In elementary school I was super into Moshi Monsters and one day I decided I'd check out the forums. When I stopped by the roleplaying forums, I saw threads that said "Animal Crossing RP" or "Harvest Moon RP" and they just, kinda interested me. So I decided I'd google them and find out more about them, which led to watching Youtube videos on them. Then I learned that ACCF was for a Wii, which I had, so I asked my mom to get it and here I am now :) I never really ended up getting into City Folk like New Leaf, though, my grandpa exclusively plays City Folk and has had the same time for the past ~5 years.

When I was younger, I was sleeping at my then friend's house, she got out her DS and started playing Wild World, I asked her what game it was and watched her play for a while, I was captivated by it and couldn't wait to get the game myself. I've been hooked on the series since. The moment that stood out to me the most was when she walked into The Roost and ordered some coffee, I was amazed at how much detail could be put into a game.

I was about 9 or 10 years old, and I remember seeing an advertisement in a catalogue for Animal Crossing Wild World that had just released that spring here in Europe. I didn't own a DS at the time, but the game looked really interesting to me and I fantasized about what it could be like a lot.
I remember the advertisement featured a photo of two player characters sitting on a couch or something, and I just thought it would be so cool to play with friends in this strange animal world, especially with new friends online! We didn't even have internet at home back then so the whole idea of connecting to strangers all over the world with this game was just absolutely amazing to me.

A friend of mine already owned a DS, and he took it with him on a week-long class trip we went on a few weeks later. And to my surprise... he had Animal Crossing! His family had just recently bought the game, and him and his siblings (and even his parents) were really into it. He let me play a few times during that week, and I totally loved it.
I really wanted to own it myself, but a DS back then was expensive and although my family didn't have money issues by any stretch of the imagination, I didn't want to just ask for it out of the blue like that.
But regardless my parents must have noticed me babbling about this mysterious "Animal Crossing" game quite a bit.
Because a short while later they surprised me with Animal Crossing for the Gamecube instead! Yep, my parents are the best, seriously. They gave it to me as a reward for something school-related I think. I was super happy and started playing that evening even though it was already pretty late.

I didn't even know Animal Crossing existed for the Gamecube and I remember being so confused about it at first, since it did not look like Wild World at all, totally different from what I had imagined. But I quickly began to love it anyway, and I played it every day after school. I'm actually glad I played the Gamecube one first.

I later got a DS and Wild World, and started playing online like I had wanted to from the start. That made my already great experience with the AC series all the better.

I was 7 yo when Wild World came out in Italy, and literally all of my friends were talking about it and playing it at birthday parties. I wasn't allowed to play videogames at that age, but when I turned 9 I finally got a DS Lite and even though the thrill was over I decided to buy the game. I wasn't disappointed <3 I played ACWW every day for years. When ACNL came out I didn't own a 3DS, but I bought a 2DS in 2015 just to play it and now I'm here waiting for the Switch version (that I'm going to play on my boyfriend's console) :D

My first Animal Crossing game was Wild World back then, I saw it and thought it looked
kinda interesting, I also really liked the way the characters are and the idea of having
a own little town. After playing it for a while, I felt in love with it and became a fan of
Animal Crossing in general. What I liked about the game the most back then was how
relaxed it is to play it and the soundtrack (still my favorite soundtrack of all AC games).

I started with New Leaf. I was looking for good 3DS games out there and I happen to stumble upon a vid on youtube of one of my fave streamers on twitch. He was playing animal crossing. I was kinda intrigued. So I asked one of my online friends who played it if "Is it good? What is it like?". He said it was really fun and addictive. I took his word for it and bought my first Animal Crossing game in 2014 as my Christmas gift to myself. I fell in love. O really enjoyed playing it. The game has it charms and also it's downsides. I got bored since it was winter and not much festivities coming up. Despite that I still try to find a way to enjoy the game.

Although I stopped playing after a month due to school. I recently picked it up again since I wasn't able to experience the other festivities the game has to offer! Hopefully I can continue playing it until I have saved enough money to buy a switch for the upcoming AC game :)

my story isn't really that deep. heard about it from a friend, and i was a nintendo kid and wanted every game and it seemed cute. i got it for christmas along with kid icarus uprising and my first 3ds in 2013

A little bit of background: when I was a kid, my family used to take a week vacation to the beach with my cousins. One year, my older cousin of 4 brought her DS and with it Animal Crossing: Wild World. I was instantly hooked. That Christmas, I got a DS and AC:WW for myself. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I had fun anyway. I bought AC:NL in 2014 and will buy a Switch to get the new Animal Crossing.
