Okay, I hate being negative or dissing any sort of game just because of the little things or even big things when I enjoy the series. While I only played the Animal Crossing series since the Gamecube up until ACNL & ACHHD (not including Wild World), I found Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer fun and cute at first! Unfortunately after more of playing it and the objective being to design villagers homes, it kinda wore on me and now I barely play it. I kind of wish Nintendo took the approach on making something like ACNL, like for the Wii U or the next gen console coming out next year. While it would've taken longer, it would've been better in a way.

I believe that they'd prefer to import a new gen onto a portable console, as the portables have been the most successful.

I really like it and it's really underrated. I still prefer New Leaf.

I like games similar to New Leaf a lot better, (owning a town and such) ! I guess that's just my opinion though.

I wasn't really looking forward to ACHDD. I bought it only because of the NEW 3DS bundle. I live in America where we had only gotten the NEW3DS XL and really wanted the one with the interchangeable face-plates hence why I bought the bundle.

Since it came with the game I thought I'd give it a shot anyway despite having zero interest in playing it. Admittedly, I had a lot of fun with it a first. A lot of new items were added and I enjoyed decorating the houses as well as trading Amiibo cards via mail with my best friend Rebeth13 whom I met here on the TBT forums. After that I think I played the game nonstop for a full two or three days before I got bored of it.

Do I regret buying it? No, it came as part of a bundle with a NEW 3DS and two faceplates I love. But the game by itself isnt worth the price of a full game. To me it feels more like a decorating app you'd get for your phone or tablet.

i personally love the game. I could loose hours on it just designing and decorating the villagers houses. It makes me think of a backstory on how the homes in acnl work, mabye they get designed and then move into our towns? The only thing i dont like about it is you cant customize your character in the way you can in new leaf, and how you cant own your own house. If its boring when its completed, try redisgning homes or thinking up challanges for yourself while designing! A challange i do is only using items using a certain color and giving yourself a time limit. Just remember, its your game, your imagination, and your happy homes!~ Me 2016

I like the game, but I can't find myself to be playing everyday since it is repetitive. Usually I'll play one day or two then I won't play for a long time and that would be it. I usually play it if I'm like really bored with stuff.

I recently got this with my New 3DS XL (was a pretty decent price) and I did not enjoy it much personally, maybe if they make a main series game and have HHD elements where you can design the villager's houses and stuff, I think that'd be cool. But as a standalone game I just don't enjoy it myself, was an OK freebie though.

I actually I find I'm liking it a lot more these days. I keep resetting my New Leaf town, and sometimes it gets a little frustrating waiting to get furniture I really like, so I use HHD to sort of pre-design my homes before I have the New Leaf items to copy it. Plus, sometimes I think it's just a lot of fun to take an hour just designing a cool house without concern about bells, villagers, or visitors.

I still do, and I've been playing it since launch-JAPANESE launch, so nearly a year! I'm running out of houses to do since I only do about 1 or 2, I don't overload it, which is probably why so many who did feel burnout so soon.

I've considered whether to get the game or not - ACNL is my first AC experience - but the concept on paper... IDK. I can't see myself paying for HHD at full retail price. It sounds like something that could have easily been incorporated into NL: like, after all the points and items for HHA have been gotten and you've done the challenge themes successfully, Lyle could induct you (or one of your characters that's not a mayor) as a member where in addition to the usual bug/fish/sea creature/real art catching, they could also have control over the interior of your neighbors.

I watched a few gameplay vids on Youtube, this looks as bad as Amiibo Party i my opinion.

So I never got it, never will either

I got tired of it after my first 3 pages of villagers, which was like... 4 days.

I think they HHD and new leaf play off eachother with the interior design feature.
If you are a hardcore lover of the interior design feature in new leaf you are going to love HHD.
And I mean those of us who spend hours and even days on one room. Dragging out HHD is what makes it fun for me.
Plus, I love the QR space it makes the game more fun to customize.

My new leaf house would be in shambles if I didn't get Ideas from HHD once in a while.

In all honesty, I kind of regret getting it. I rarely ever play it, and I bought it bundled with an NFC reader so I could use amiibo cards. Basically all the amiibo cards I ended up getting were for villagers I didn't want to design houses for, and recently I ended up getting a New 3DS, making that extra money I spent on the NFC reader bundle wasted.

Still, I do play the game from time to time. Recently I built the concert hall and fell in love with the cuteness that the villagers sing. (And my new 3ds is really nice. I got the Hyrule Gold Edition and it looks so amazing.)

Still like it

I still find the game enjoyable however whenever I play it I get nauseous. I still really like it though but I only play it if there's a Challenge or a new DLC.

i love it! i'm not as invested as i am in acnl, as i just play hhd in infrequent bursts, but when i do play it it's really fun!

besides, i know that if i didn't buy it i would just be sad all the time about it. i mean, that's how i feel with amiibo festival even though everyone seems to hate it (i don't have a wiiu so i can't get it. and i don't want to get it for just one game. even if it seems fun to me, it's overpriced.)
