Indian/middle eastern accents.
I don't hate them, I'm indifferent to the way they sound. They're just an accent.
Understanding them though? Even a light accent really throws me off, thicker accents I absolutely cannot understand. There's been a few times where I've gotten through to a call center and had to ask if I could speak to somebody else because I couldn't grasp a single word the person was saying. I felt awful asking, but there was also no point staying on the phone with somebody I literally couldn't comprehend.
TF is a 'British' accent?
Most places are going to have 'subcategories' of accents and we're going to group them together and that's okay.
Unless you're from the country, you're probably not going to know different regional accents and most definately aren't going to know even more specific local accents that everybody FROM that country will notice instantly. I'm not going to expect anybody on this forum to know the difference between a Wigan and a Salford accent, I can tell the difference, but I'm not going to throw a tantrum when somebody from America who's never been to the UK just throws it under the umberalla term of "British accent".
