ACNH Pet Peeves and Petty Complaints Thread

I would've wanted them to make it where you can buy Fish Bait from CJ but only when he's on your island or during the Fishing Journey.
They couldn't even let the clams stack. The clams serve no purpose other than being crafted for bait. Unless there is some other DIY use for it. But I don't think there is. So 1 clam is 1 bait. You need to dig up so many just to get a decent amount and you can only have so much pocket space. Even less when you just start off.

Yeah and its so time consuming. My thumb got really sore from crafting so many fish bait.

So many people have complained about the fish bait crafting that I feel like there's no way Nintendo didn't hear about it, and it really feels like that would have been an easy thing to fix in a patch.
Agreed, the fact that Craft-X isn't an option in a 2023 game is absurd.

They can be used on Turkey Day, and also any other time to make Seafood Pizza, Pesce All'acqua Pazza, and Clam Chowder.

I'm surprised they never made bulk crafting a thing.
Bulk crafting and pooling from your resources should've been a thing. Maybe not if you were outside of your home, but in your home should've been a thing. A indie game like Star Dew Valley made it possible.

I am pretty sure I say this every year but I really really wish there was more Halloween stuff in New Horizons like there is in Pocket Camp.

I think it's kinda wild that we can't just jump on demand while running around in ACNH. Why is there no jump button. Let me jump around in AC dang it!!!
I only play since ACNL so no that long ago but has there ever been the possibility to jump in any series of AC?

The lack of bulk crafting is the most baffling thing considering they added other aspects of convenience (like the wands to change outfits). And I don't even know why they bothered to add a 'tap the button faster makes you craft faster' function. Just make it that fast from the start, lol.

It would be fun to jump around, though I'm not sure what point it would serve LOL. Not that many games have needed a reason to have a dedicated jump button. :) give us a cute jump rope mini game to play with the villagers...!

I agree with every point. Top contenders for me:
having to know ahead of time what items the DIY's need so you can pull them out of inventory!!! Why?? The game should know you have it and automatically use it. This is my biggest frustration
the many items that don't stack. -another biggie! Takes up way too much space and is unnecessary since some items do stack.
Breaking tools, ugh!
Yeah, I could go on but it's all pretty much been said.

very good points here, yeahhh. pulling from home storage for crafting would be so good and useful. we know it keeps track of what's in your storage at a work bench because we can see an indication of the diy items themselves being in our home srorage or not (with the little icon), so it feels like this would be something that's very possible to implement.
same about stacking items. why not 100 stars instead of 10 🌚

these could be features hidden behind milestones jn the game, to really encourage you to work towards 100% completion, even with big purchasing cost, etc if they wanted to make it challenging.

c'mon nintento ! let's be creative !

Star Dew Valley is a game made by one person and it's an indie game. You play as a farmer revitalizing your grandfather's run down farm. In the game you can craft stuff if you make a crafting station. Guess what? You can pool from your pockets or stuff that you have in storage. You don't have to go on a wild goose chase trying to find it in the storage/chests. If the storage is close enough it will just pool from it.

I don't know. It just frusturates me when a game made by one passionate person has more QoL features than a triple AAA company game.

Yes! I've have SDV and have played it off and on....new games always pop up so I switch. The most recent one I've been playing DDLV is seamless with now what you have in your inventory and I have numerous chests with different items all over the island, but the game knows what I have! not difficult from a game programming perspective, so it seems silly. But DDLV also has batch crafting, but not batch cooking, ugh. Because unlike ACNH you need to continually refuel yourself so you cook quite often.

The lack of consistency in between what items stack to what levels is really annoying.

Started terraforming again a while ago and already burnt out again because of how tedious it is... Hate how it's just one tile at a time and the fact that we don't even have an indication of where we're about to hit is truly frustrating. I've destroyed cliffs/added a cliff I didn't mean to, or wrecked part of a river or pond wayyy too many times.

Your comment has helped me! I have discovered in playing the 2-3 games I have that weight heavily on decorating, etc. that I don't actually like the outside portion. I like to decorate inside, although with ACNH the small rooms and only 2 floors kinda dampens that enjoyment. I started playing this only this year so I haven't really wanted to buy the DLC because I'm sure with my luck a new version would come out! But I've been feeling like I was missing a huge part of this game by not terraforming and yet I didn't really want to get into it and destroy my island. Hearing about your experiences with it I think I am not even going to bother.

Terraforming in this game is insanely tedious. I've only terraformed small parts of my island and even that was annoying with all of the accidental building and tearing down of cliffs and rivers. I would've loved if they had refined it during some of the updates, or allowed some sort of upgrade in the 2.0 update that would allow you to terraform in a manner similar to how it works in the HHP DLC. Terraforming is one of the things I hope carries on into the next game though, and hopefully much more streamlined than what we have now. New Horizons gave them a great foundation to build upon.

why does it seem like the very instant a nook miles+ mission wants you to catch a specific critter, that one seems to suddenly become a rarer spawn than a coelacanth on a sunny day

Oh my gosh, I was also hoping they would refine the feature too?? I'm glad I'm not the only one. 😭 I recently redid a big area and had to basically remove a whole layer of cliff from a quarter of my island and my god, it really just reminded me why I hadn't gone back. Before that, I really hadn't terraformed in over a year... I remember telling my friends when the game dropped that my island would take like 7 years to complete because I technically never finished my NL town after 7+ years, but at this point it might take me even longer/ get the same treatment as NL bc it's just so much and the perfectionist in me is never pleased. 😓
