I was making a joke, yes that's totally true though.
There's no rule that just straight up states that just because somebody claims blue that they have to reveal what blue they are because what if he was a bomb, for example? ijs
A SK definitely would because it's definitely a deceptive solo move and protects them from a mafia or vig kill. But fakeclaiming isn't on its own scummy if it is done by someone who wants the presidency because they want it. I'm just pointing out the deliberate characteristic of it because I want to keep it in mind as I develop further reads on him as the game progresses. Furthermore, scum can still hella benefit from presidency. Protection from vig and SK and double the vote could determine whether a mislynch can be made to happen. I don't know why you'd just straight up dismiss it because it's risky because said mislynch can happen from either alignment and that president can get away with not being lynched over it because it's early game and mislynches happen.
Not gonna blow this up more than it needs to be though because like I said I just want to call it out and keep it in mind. It's gotten some good reaction, at least.
Srsly though Punchy, there is no way Ness is mafia, and the only reason that I'm in agreement with the pressure for a flavor name is because I can see a world in which Ness is the purported "Campaigner" or whatever who wins when he's elected. But there's no way that he's mafia. Frankly, I see no reason for Ness NOT to give it, since the flavor roles this game aren't insanely obviously indictative towards people's actual roles

This is way too cautionless for you to say smh. That being said my role is ridiculously named. But somebody like you would hella try and figure out what that role the name could be by thinking about it through Trundle's mentality.
Ness claiming blue makes complete sense to me, I was honestly gonna suggest someone claim blue so we can vote them into presidency, fact check their liability based on night actions, and not have to worry about them getting night-killed and basically ensure they stay alive (Assuming there isn't any other weird roles that can kill a president).
But I realized how poor of a choice outting blue could be in terms of helping scum pick out roles, so when I saw Ness allude to someone ELSE being blue in the game, encouraging everyone to read back, I got a little annoyed. Mafia would feel a little more extrinsically motivated to actually look for the clues Ness could see as compared to town who probably wouldn't try as hard. I feel a lot better knowing that he was actually referring to himself rather than anyone else, but I don't know if not revealing anything beyond him being blue is convincing enough for me to vote him in, as scummy as that sounds. That being said, his motivation for outting is probably in similar taste as to how I wanted the presidency to be decided, so he is my top choice at this moment.

It doesn't matter, Roleblockers usually can't block the same person twice in a row. The point is Ness won't be killed by mafia, ever.

Dude, when has anybody, as maf, in the entire history of TBT mafia, been able to guess somebody's exact role based off their flavor name in a closed setup
Yes, I am aware that I did make that ****ing gambler claim that everybody touts above my head, but that's making a claimed name fit into a claimed role. Doing vice versa is far harder. (Though I guess something like Trump as roleblocker would be insanely obvious, based off of my role, I wouldn't say that roles are really obvious so far this game)
That is true, but that effectively makes his role half value, and that of anybody who would be elected (unless we have a watcher, if which case it would be a net benefit)(don't claim if you are watcher btw). But he doesn't survive forever, he basically just survives until bodyguards and cops are dead
