On one hand, great! New cards! Finally, I can feel safe letting Raymond go. I've only just found him on a Mystery island, and I wasn't sure if to keep him or not.

On the other... Nintendo. Stock. I don't really want to spend hours refreshing for a chance of getting a few packets, only for them to go out of stock as soon as I order (or worse, after I've ordered they cancel, so I don't even bother going to the next store which would be out of stock by the time I get the message).

Anyone else feel the same way? Will you be purchasing any?

I won't be this time. I went full force back in 2015 or so when the first four series, WA, and Sanrio came out, successfully collecting all of them. This time though, I'm sitting out. None of the new villagers appeal to me to jump back into the chaos again lol.

Considering that I'm trying to collect the original e-reader cards from GCN, I have other priorities. If I bump into a pack I may, or if Aziz is somehow one of the cards we didn't see yet...but right now I want to work on preserving older ones.

Something I was surprised by for these is that there isn't a Gullivarr card. I know that technically Gulliver and Gullivarr are the same character, but I'm pretty sure that the game's code treats them as 2 separate NPCs. I guess I was surprised because amiibo sets 1-4 definitely had multiple copies of the same NPC in multiple outfits.

I believe the AC cards (including s5 and the re-releases of the old cards) have been confirmed to be Target only for the US so that will be, uh, interesting. Anyone remember the disaster that was the initial release of the Sanrio cards? :(

I'm going for total completion (already completed s1-s4), so yeah, I'll for sure be getting some series 5 packs and try to complete the set!

I can't wait to see what the scalpers charge for these 😣

I'll definitely try and get a couple packs. I guess it depends on how hard they are to get here.

depending on where they release in the UK, my sister and i will probably try and get a few packs. after sanrio and the limited stock chaos with that, i'm a bit iffy though. it might be that we just buy "fake" ones. makes no difference to us.

If I can managed to get one pack before the loser scalpers come in, I will gladly buy one. But so far the Sanrio and revival of the series 1-4 reprints has proven they still don't have a handle on these scalpers.

I'll probably buy a few packs hoping for a few specific villagers. Then if I don't get those villagers, I'll probably look to buy the specific cards for resale. (I really wish Nintendo would sell us individual cards for $5 apiece or something).

I'm definitely buying as many as I can get my hands on to complete the set, and I really enjoy trading cards with people on this forum so I'll be doing that as well. I really hope their is plenty of stock so scalpers aren't able to completely ruin it for everyone. I know there was stock issues in the past with amiibo cards so hopefully they do things better this time around.

I won't be buying any of the Series 5 cards. Amiibo cards (and Amiibo's in general) haven't been my thing and so I haven't bothered purchasing any of them, so it's not like this is anything new for me, lol

I'm hoping to pick up quite a few, I still need to complete series 2-4, so I'm hoping I get enough doubles of the new card to trade off (or better yet, they restock series 1-4 again when they release the new set).

I loathe hunting for specific villagers on mystery islands after it took like two real world weeks to find Tucker to be my Lazy in the first month of the game's release. However, I also don't want to spend on booster packs in the hope of getting the specific villager amiibos I want and end up having to contend with the possibility of getting duplicates of ones I'm not interested in. So, I'll just get the individual amiibo for the specific villagers I want on the secondhand market. That's how I've always engaged with Animal Crossing amiibos; I've never bought a pack.

Very much on the fence, to be honest. On one hand, I do want to buy the series 5 cards as I have really wanted to get into collecting Animal Crossing amiibo cards in general for a long while. On the other hand, there are factors that feel deterring; scalpers, the matter of stock and such, and apart from the official website, I've no clue where else to acquire cards in the UK.

GAME is probably your best bet here in the UK. they always have nintendo merchandise, including a bunch of the AC plushies. i don't know how common their stores are though. next place i'd look would probably be the gaming area in tesco. maybe a place like SMYTHS toys? they have a gaming section too.

Oooooh, thank you! I'll have to check out my nearest GAME (I did not know theh have AC plushies? omg???) and Tesco- they'd probably be my best bets.

I'd like to buy a few. The only issue is I'm likely unable to find any due to the area I live in and all the scalpers.
