Annoying neighbors

Brush. I was just about to make a thread of this. Lmao

I opened my window last night and smelt dog poop. .-. It was from the neighbors not cleaning their yard. .-.

My neighbors aren't really annoying. two of them are foreign, they're so mysterious because they never talk to us.

Lol! That's how we do it in Sweden. I don't know any of my neighbors. They're quiet though, so I'm happy with them.

It's good to have sociable neighbors... sometimes but anti-social neighbors are better since they have 0% chance of being annoying.

I live in a college neighborhood that's right next to three other primary/secondary schools. It's pretty safe to say that I live in noisy booze party hell. I've seen like, 5 people die from alcohol poisoning since we moved here. It's...an experience.

Our old neighbors had a cat they abused that we sort of started taking care of, so the woman who owned him used to throw baggies of curry as a way to deter him from going into our patio. It didn't work, but it sure made the entire place smell like rotten curry, so that was great. We also now have an amateur garage band that can't figure out any lyrics for their songs other than "I don't knoooooo~w how!" for EVERY SINGLE SONG they sing(?). We got some new people who moved in who love having 6-hour parties with their windows open, just in case the rest of the neighborhood would like to hear how much fun their having. Good times! We also have midnight drag racing! Half the difficulty comes from avoiding the kids who live around here who enjoy playing in the street around that time! And to round it off, we have someone who boils potatoes around 6 PM every night and it makes the whole place somehow smell like...boiled potatoes. Like, the entire neighborhood. How even.

I complain, but I'm probably not that great to live with either. I have a laugh like the world's loudest donkey, and I sing all the time when I do my homework from 1-7 in the morning. I also have a perpetual glare that makes people think that I'm quietly plotting out their painful demise, so I'm not really earning myself any friends.

When I was backpacking and often sleeping in hostels I had to deal with people snoring, coming in ****faced at 3 AM, turning the lights on, and generally being inconsiderate. Dorm rooms are usually between 4-12 people. Somehow I got through this without earplugs or a sleep mask for 2~ years. Since settling down I've been lucky enough to not have to deal with any major problems...except finding out my previous roommate was going behind my back for a year. A story for another time. :p Now it helps that the only wall we share with our immediate neighbor is the hallway and my roommate's bedroom/bathroom. Nothing connected to mine. Been pretty lucky so far. :p

Years ago, I lived in an apartment. The young couple upstairs had a rwo year old boy. He would leave his place ( without his parents knowing), and come into my house. I would be in the kitchen ( feeding my two year old), and hear something in my childs bedroom. I go to inspect the noise and there's the neighbors kid, playing with my kids toys. I would take him home, and his parents didn't even know he was missing. They said he had been going into other peoples houses too, so they bought a chain lock for the top of the door, but he would just grab a chair and undo it. They didn't know what to do about it. I suggested that they keep a better eye on him.

They were also expecting another baby. One day, I noticed a lot of water was leaking from the ceiling into my bathroom. I ran up to their apartment and they had left the boy ( now three) and the 6 month old girl in the tub. They would leave the water running so the water would stay warm. The boy put the plug in which caused the tub to overflow. Their entire bathroom was flooded. I then had to lecture them about the dangers of leaving them unattended in the bathtub.

They were also very noisy, and other neighbors had complained, which led to them eventually getting evicted.

I have been blessed and have never lived elsewhere than our own home cause I could imagine in an apartment is worse for annoying neighbours cause you are literally RIGHT THERE.
Well, except for the one time we were living in a townhouse waiting for our house to be built. Our neighbours had kids who could never not stomp anywhere or stop banging on the walls. Irritating.

We have had neighbours on the block that would do construction 24/7 and have their dog(s) bark constantly. Thankfully our other neighbours called the city for noise complaints so they have stopped now.

All of my neighbors are either teenagers with their parents or an older couple or parents with younger kids. The teenagers are the main annoying ones. One always goes outside at 6 am and 9-11 pm and plays basketball. It annoys the heck out of me when I try to sleep in on the weekends. Another one has elementary school kids who always hit my house with a ball, etc. Then there are my friends and the older couples who all act respectively.

Seems like a new neighborhood or a neighborhood with a lot of social activity? Is that what you would describe it?

it's like a soap opera out there next door it's amazing

Drama in the neighborhood?

We had some few years back but luckily all the drama llamas husbands got deployed or their husbands divorced them. lol :p

Not a reflection on anyone in this thread but: I live in an apartment complex with like 500 people. There's a facebook group of the apartment and what annoys me the most about my neighbours is that they complain about every little thing! Like, the other day there was this girl complaining that her neighbours had their windows open and were playing loud music. She said they had been doing that for the past half hour... She wrote that at noon...
So basically, people who need to live somewhere on a lonely hill on an desertedisland are living in an apartment complex with 500 people... It annoys me!

Ah, yes... Annoying neighbors.... Two years ago, we had this family in the neighborhood behind ours, and they were very... dysfunctional... The kids were always screaming outside, and the parents were constantly fighting and screaming obscenities at each other and at the kids, and playing super loud music.... I'd hear what sounded like gunfire at night, unless that was door slamming. The worst incident with them was when they decided to light a large bonfire in their backyard.... It was big enough that we could see it over our wooden fence, which is almost 6 feet. And they were burning chemicals or something and getting high off the smoke, while playing loud music. We called the fire department out of concern, and when they came, well... let's just say it smelled really bad outside after they put the fire out. After that, I think they moved out, and we haven't had any problematic neighbors since.

Reading through these reminding me of a neighborhood I lived in before, so the neighborhood was actually amazing, the whole neighborhood was upper middle class and everyone in it was really nice, we did the little "Boo bags" where you leave a bag of Halloween treats on each-other's porches and leave a little thing on your doorknob to know you've already been hit, then you buy your own bag and give it to another neighbor ETC ETC until everyone has had one. We had really great BBQ's and stuff with our neighbors and our across the street neighbors had an autistic son who I babysat a few times who loved me, and our down the street neighbors had a baby french bulldog named Tatertot who would run into our house and make himself at home. It was basically a perfect neighborhood, except....

My side of the street's fence was shared with a small private Christian school, so every day there was screaming children, when I would walk home and pass it the children would all run up to the fence of the school and stare at me, it was pretty terrifying... but I assume it was because I was a little goth princess. So there was definitely the noise as a problem, like as if 100 kids lived next door to me... but then across the field from the school... was Juvie. We'd hear the alarms go off at least twice a week, usually in the middle of the night of course and it'd wake me up. On top of that beyond our upper middle class neighborhood was the pretty "ghetto" area of town, we had rival gangs that lived all in that area so on top of the children, and alarms from Juvie there was also regular gunshots. So even though it was a great neighborhood in itself it just needed a better location.

I miss that neighborhood. It was actually funny because we had three cats, and after we moved out we ran into one of our old neighbors while shopping and they said they had to buy a cat because once we left they got INFESTED with mice!

i live in a house so im not as affected by neighbours as some other people. my neighbours are pretty chill idk i never talk to them or anything. the people who live next to us used to have two super loud dogs but now they are dead and their current dog never barks lmao.
also the other house next to ours used to have a big truck (like, a really big truck) that made beeping noises every time he reversed out of their property, which was every day. he died tho and his wife doesnt have the truck any more
