Are you going to do anything "special" on the forums for the game?

Are you going to work on opening a shop, focus one getting specific things in mass to giveaway to others, etc?

I'm planning on opening a garden shop, hybrids, flowers, bushes if they're in, etc.

Going to have a monopoly on these little buggers. <:

I'll probably do a gardening shop, which was always my favorite sort of thing to run back in the day. I loved breeding hybrids. If I can I'd love to do a crafting materials or furniture shop too, but we'll see on that one -- not sure how long it'll take for me to fill up my catalogue enough to do so lol! Probably not a villager trading shop though. Not sure how those will work, especially since I can't have two islands to keep a "cycling" one separate from the other. I guess that it depends a lot on how the game ends up feeling once I get to playing it but I'm so excited to do so! Having a cute little shop or contribution to the community on the forums is so nostalgic and it'll be a lot of fun!

Probably just be posting funny screenshots or keeping an album of my island when it starts becoming completed. Never was big into having a shop, seems pretty stressful.

I hosted a big multimillion bell giveaway once, so I can myself doing that eventually. it was fun

Sharing anecdotes, nothing special.

But then I’ve never been around on TBT before for an AC game in its prime, so I don’t even understand what you mean by “shop”. Like, growing hybrids/getting rare furniture and trading it with other players for in-game bells, but doing it so regularly you have a shopfront-style listing on the forums?

Yes that's pretty much what that is! There are still a few active in the New Leaf sections under Villager Trading Post and Re-Tail. Back when ACNL was still super big there were a ton of little shops in there selling things like that. You'd just keep it "open" and people would request what they want and when you were both free you'd trade. People trade for both in-game bells as well as bells on the forum. It was fun! It wasn't stressful or too time consuming either. The most time consuming thing about it was creating the forum topic for me really. It was a fun little way to add a new purpose to the game whenever you got to a point where you didn't feel like you had much reason to play every day anymore/when your town was close to complete.

Thank you for the explanation! I can totally see that as something I’d indulge in if I needed to give my game new life, though likely not right away.

Did people tend to open patterns/designs shops as well? That might appeal more to me than selling flowers.

I'm just going to play for the pure fun of it! I am going to hopefully stay away from buying anything on the forums for New Horizons for the first 6 Months so I can just enjoy the game

Not so much shops as commissions every now and then, but I've seen people do all kinds of services, like patterns for paths/clothes, town tunes, cleaning up others' weeds, etc. So I'm sure you can start any kind of shop if you really put in the effort

I'm just gonna play for the fun of it! I don't think I'd do well running a shop or anything. :c

Of course!! And yes I think they did! I can't remember particularly what they did but I do think I remember seeing them up. That would be so fun too! I always wanted to do that, I thought it'd be fun to design things for people or sell the QR codes for cute clothing designs. I really hope that we can share our patterns in ACNH too (and I'm sure we will be), that would be so cute!

im gonna play for fun but i'd also like to collect furniture and flowers to sell. i'll probably open a shop but it'll just have whatever in it, and it probably wont be the most professional looking store on the forum lol

No I won't be doing anything.
Though if amiibo RV's are a thing on Harvey's island, people would be welcome to visit.

I wouldn't charge for it, I never have.

For new leaf I did mystery gift thing. each thing was wrapped and prizes were between 10,000 to 99,000 bells or rare items. PPl paid and got to pick at random. I forget what I charged but wasnt much. I wanna do that again.

I don’t plan on anything too special, but I’m definitely interested in visiting other people’s towns or inviting people to mine. And I’m definitely open to making some nice trades or cashing in on fruit and stuff.

I also enjoy randomly giving nice people a bunch of bells. lol

I think I'll do a little shop where I sell anything I have extra, but nothing on demand for the first months. I'd like to enjoy the game at my own pace first.. But I do enjoy the interaction of having a shop or selling spare stuff, so I won't stay away from it completely :)

I wouldn't say shops but I've opened threads to sell my extra clovers, hybrids, items, bushes, etc. But I won't have the time to actually run a shop. I usually look through threads to see what they have though. At the beginning of release date I think a lot of us are going to focus a lot in our island. I'm sure when were semi stable then we'll start trading

i will probably just be waiting around until shops open and then become a loyal customer of many, the shops are so helpful for getting items and flowers, so i thank you all for creating your shops :)
