E7121023-068B-4CC6-98DF-4D83D92D8E49.jpeg

consisting of crispy decomposing leaves, mycelium, twigs and autumnal mushrooms, muddy waters, and of course lots of soil, this fungal concoction has everything a worm could ever desire. easily made!
  • dirt= crushed oreos
  • mycelium= (half melted) whipped cream
  • twigs= chocolate rolly thing
  • leaves= sprinkles
  • mushroom= chocolate
  • murky water= it’s just cold coffee, but probably works with cocoa too

Along with the disembodied head of Grand High Inquisitor Roberto of the Anti-Witch Division (who we loving call Bob),
my ancestors on my grandmother's side (who hailed from Naples, Italy)
have passed down tales of being descendants of the Witches of Benevento.
They also passed down a book of strange recipes.
For a light brunch today I recreated two of the recipes. I present to you...

Halved Pickled Ogre Eyes & Bubbling Purple Witches Brew

Closer view of Bubbling Purple Witches Brew (Almond milk dyed light purple with food coloring.)
I made the bubbles by blowing through a straw. Honestly - it was heckin' fun!

Our foster, Mama Bourbon, inspecting my handiwork.
Every witch's familiar has to double check their creations, right? 😹

FYI - My grandmother's family actually is from Naples, Italy.
Also there are actually legends of witches in the area. See here & here.
These two tidbits of information were the inspiration for my entry.
Psst... Bob is just a Halloween decoration I found online a long time ago. He's made of some sort of foam/latex.
He likes the Grand High Inquisitor title though so we haven't broken it to him that he's not really an Inquisitor.

"The VIP's Drink & Appetizer" that wasn't just wine they were drinking...

The drink is pomegranate juice, eyeballs were made with lychees stuffed with blueberries, red food gel was used for the blood on the eyeballs. The appetizer is mini dalgona candies served with needles (you know what happens if you don't get that shape in the middle out perfectly 💀)

The Three Witches’ Companions

These brooms — i.e., witches’ best friends — are my sweet hors d’œuvre (and hopefully, my dessert tonight)! The brush is made of homemade puff pastry filled with a chocolate spread. The shaft is made of green tea marzipan, as I had no pretzel sticks. The mini marzipan rolls and marzipan pumpkin were added as decoration. 😊

Where shall we fly tonight? 🧹

Here are the links to the recipes I used (though I made some tweaks)!
  • Witches’ brooms
  • Marzipan
  • Chocolate spread: melted dark chocolate mixed with butter, maple syrup and vanilla extract (I only estimated the quantity).

-Darkesque's Twisted Witch's Brew-

I was on a tight budget, so shh lol
Here is my entry! It is Fruit Punch gatorade and Grape gatorade mixed to make that beautiful ombré look (I was proud of myself lol). I threw some ice cubes in, 2 gummy eyeballs, and a gummy snake and centipede. After I finished, I gulped it down lol, I was thirsty, and it is hot in my house :(

One day, you were walking through the Bell Tree Forest, where you stumbled upon a small, dilapidated shack. You see a mysterious flicker of light and smoke billowing out of the rugged chimney. You creep towards it, and slowly peek in the window. Inside, you see a plump, hump-backed figure stirring a cauldron. She is humming a very familiar tune. As you ponder what she is humming, she quickly whips around and sees you. You jump, frightened, and try to back away, but, a big spider web catches you and entangles you. The witch cackles as you writhe against the silky web. She motions at the web, and you feel yourself slowly gliding towards her. She bends over and grabs a drinking glass. She dips her ladle into the cauldron, and pours the concoction into the glass. You sit and watch in horror as you see a singular eyeball depart from the ladle and plop in the glass. As soon as you gag, another drops in, and then a dead snake, and then a dead centipede. She slowly walks towards you with a big, malicious grin on her face. She gets even closer, and whispers, "Drink up, my pretty." You mumble, "No." She repeats her sentence. "No, please, don't make me drink that, I'll do anything." She laughs, "Open your mouth, or else." You slowly open your mouth, and she tips the glass to your lips. You taste the chilled blood, and the wretched texture of the eyeball hits your tounge. You try to spit it out, but the witch forces your mouth close, forcing you to swallow the potion. You close your eyes, and before you know it, you jolt awake. You pop up like toast in a toaster, and then you realize that it was just a nightmare.

After all those other tasks, I figured we could all use a strong drink. So I present to you, my Swamp water!

Now everyone cross your fingers that my Halloween cocktail gets placed at work! Top 3 get to be made all weekend and the one that sells the most, wins $50!!!

Oh god.. that centipede. I had to look twice at your image, once to see the spooky and again to check for your tbt name card. Both times I died a little inside. They are my weakness. 😂
Lmaooo, he tasted good tho, so I'm not complaining 😂

Here is my entry!

Frankenstien's Frappe
A spicy sweet treat, Frankenstein's frappe is a spooky blend of the monster himself! I used lime sorbet as Frankenstein's signature green color and a mixture of watermelon sorbet for fleshy pink (although it looks more red in the picture...) and chamoy sauce for blood. I also sprinkled some tajin/chili powder on top for more flavor. c:

I made some Chiroptera Cheese Bites (bats belong to the order 'Chiroptera') and BatBerry Brew with the help of this rat. He tells me his name is Remy and that he used to be a chef.....how convenient!

YDbFW6P.jpg

The bats are cream cheese balls rolled in crushed roasted pistachios :) The wings and ears are blue corn tortilla chips while the eyes are blackberry drupelets. The three bats rest on a bed of roasted pumpkin seeds. The drink consists of Dragon Berry Bacardi dyed red with 2 drops of food coloring. I mixed it with Blackberry Hint water as any alcoholic drink I have has to NOT taste like alcohol. Actual blackberries rest on the rim and chilled blackberries fill the glass. "Bone" appetit!

Kitchen witch time? No prob!
I give you:
