Crossover Items: What's your wish?

So by tomorrow (March 1st) we're getting the Super Mario items because of Mario's 35th anniversary. I personally expected so much more, like a Yoshi costume, Bowser shell, or FLUUD backpack, and many more furniture items that isn't just from the older Animal Crossing games. I mean heck, we didn't even get all the Mario items that were in previous Animal Crossing games...

So my question to you now is: What gaming franchise would you like to crossover with Animal Crossing New Horizons? I imagine it will mostly be Nintendo related but comment below which franchise you wanna see, and specifically the items, clothing and more!

As for me, I hope the Zelda's 35th anniversary gives us tons of stuff. Including a Master Sword shaped backpack, or a Hylian Shield shaped backpack!

I was never super big on crossovers, but the LoZ ones were very good and I quite liked them.
If they bring the items over I hope Majora's Mask returns, especially now that they've gutted changed the Jester Mask item.

I miss being able to wear neat masks.​

i REALLY want loz themed stuff in the game, i'm not too borthered about the mario items because it's kinda basic imo

but loz is amazing and i would adore an island covered in swords and treasure chests
plus some loz themed clothes & accessories would be super jazzy and i'd totally wear them all the time
that being said, i want wolf link back

I agree, and I hope they bring new stuff too from all the Zelda games. Breath of The Wild could have so many costumes to choose from... Sidon outfit, Link's Hylian Hood with cape, Bokoblin outfit, Revali's bow as a backpack, and more.

Or imagine having a diving outfit that worked in the water based on the Zora Armor from Twilight Princess. Or... Or... Majora's Mask glowing in the dark when you wear it, or use an emotion!

I'd love to see a crossover with Pokemon as it has been my favourite Nintendo franchise since I was young and I'd really like to see some Pokemon themed items/clothes added to NH, though I do worry if this crossover ever did happen that it wouldn't be as good as I'd hoped.

A LoZ crossover would also be good as it was very popular in past games and I think with the anniversary it would be a really good time to bring Zelda themed items (and the villagers) back into the game, especially with the Sanrio ones returning it seems a shame that these ones are still missing (in particular W.Link)

Persona 5 - Joker is in Smash, Strikers on Switch...we could get a set of Phantom Thief masks.

As for games, I definitely want to see a Pokémon crossover, and I'd be happy if they added more Nintendo games. But otherwise, I'm a bit iffy about crossovers in-game, especially looking back at the Campus, 7-Eleven and Fueki stuff in NL. Some of it did turn out cute, but I don't want to feel like I'm being advertised to in-game, even if they're only Japanese brands I rarely have the chance to interact with.

I wanted to comment on the Persona 5 thing: Technically the "masquarade mask" works for a Joker cosplay, but I do agree with you a proper one would be better! I tried making a quick wand outfit to answer you

I’m hoping they don’t add too much crossover stuff, tbh. I mean some is fun. The Mario stuff is surprisingly cute though I initially had little interest in it. The Sanrio stuff fits well, because the aesthetic fits well.

most of all I would rather not have any brand name stuff in the game, it is would be extremely distasteful seeing like the Amazon logo on my island, just as an extreme example. It sounds like a nightmare. I don’t want the game to become an advertisement.

of the options listed I think maybe I could get on board with a Pokémon crossover...I have trouble imagining how it would work, but Pokémon has a generally cute aesthetic that I could see fitting in. But it still seems like it might just get to be too much to me (maybe just because my imagination is failing me).

There are a lot of other additions and changes i would prefer to an endless string of crossovers (more villager plots being number one). But given that the two so far have exceeded my expectations I am trying to keep an open mind!

While Pokémon items could be like small furniture. A charmander lamp where his tail glows, a Snorlax beanie bed, and so forth!

I think the Zelda/Splatoon villagers are coming back at some point, given that there’s some suspiciously empty slots for villagers in the game’s code that match up to their species, in the same way that there were some suspiciously empty slots that the Sanrio villagers matched up to (and I think the other promo villagers also had some presence there too?)

However, I’d love to see some Mario amiibo villagers, primarily to get the other few bits of Mario furniture we don’t have back as well as adding some new bits in, and I wouldn’t mind some Pokemon villagers as well?

but to be fair the question was about what my wishes were and not what other people wish for. Ethically, since the game is for children I still find the insertion of pure product/brand placement to be iffy.

Just my own feelings, it feels gross, uncreative, and unnecessary. Amazon/ Walmart et. all are not my friends and not generally good or positive entities. I know it would probably be Japanese brands which may seem more friendly, because I have less knowledge of them, but the idea really just makes me shudder. I suppose all crossovers are advertisements, but it seems different to have two fun IPs mix together, and to like have my island turn into a weird billboard/ corporate distopia from a cyber punk movie (argh, I made it sound awesome by accident and now want to see that cyber punk island)

on the Pokémon stuff, yeah I could see that stuff working. It is not something I particularly am anxious for, but I think perhaps my mind would change at least on some of it once I saw it, and for the rest I am not going to complain since it would likely make a lot of people happy (though it would probably make at least as many people horribly disappointed )

Having said all of the above about being against advertising/ non Nintendo corporations being in my game, Disney is very popular in Japan and I feel like a lot of people would be very excited to see a potential Disney x ACNH crossover - though I don’t know how it would work with the Disney stuff they are not so subtly already ripping off in game, haha

I'd like cat Sissel as a villager, complete with red bandana, possibly Missle as well. Ghost Trick themed furniture would be rad as well. Think of a desk lamp that swivels and moves on it's on occasionally or when you interact with it.

As for franchises I'm hoping for crossovers with, I'd have to say Legend of Zelda and Pokemon. They already have previously put in stuff for LoZ and Pokemon of course, but if they brought those back and added some more items, I'd love that! What I'd really LOVE is if they brought back the LoZ villagers they had at one point; Wolf Link and Epona were so cool. I do feel like they have plenty of opportunities for some really cool additions to the items they already previously made for these two franchises, so I really hope they bring them back at some point!

To be honest I'm not big on crossovers, and any crossovers that may be "promotional"/adversisements should definitely stay out of a game like Animal Crossing. That being said, I don't know if this is necessarily a crossover, but I'd love to see the 7/11 items make a comeback for New Horizons. I would also love to see a crossover, so to say, with Pocket Camp where they bring some of the cute clothes and amenities over to NH!

I knew before viewing the poll that Zelda would be the top leader. It goes without saying we want the Zelda stuff back. We had it in the other games, so it only makes sense to have them come back. More so because this is Zelda's 35th anniversary and it wouldn't make sense for them to not take advantage of that celebration.
