So, I’ve thought about this before, but how does this work? I mean, I’ve been on other forums before where people typed languages other than English, but on TBT, for people who are from non-English-speaking nations, do they type in their first language and the site automatically translates it to English, or is it more like they already learned English, so they type their posts in it because it’s the only language the site allows extended use of? I’m just a bit curious as to how this works and what the site stance on it is. :)

EDIT: This question goes for other languages as well, or wondering if even other posts are translated to that person’s language.

Сайт нь текстийг орчуулдаг гэдэгт эргэлзэж байгаа ч би үүнийг итгэлтэйгээр бичих болно

I’m pretty sure everyone here just types in English. There’s no translating function on this site unless you do it manually through google translate or another translator.

Nope, the words didn't translate. I'm guessing the site only allows English speakers.

I have seen someone post in Korean in the Introduction Board before and that thread was deleted within minutes (I?m assuming by Moderators). So I don?t think threads in other languages are allowed.
Not to mention that I don?t know a translation program that allows for such a flawless translation. Admittedly, I?m no expert in the english language, but I?m sure I could recognize a Google-translation if I saw one.
Furthermore, the website definitely doesn?t auto-translate because I have used other languages in small sections of posts before when the user I was talking to knew that language, the posts stayed the same and weren?t deleted (probably because they were mostly english).
...Selbst wenn ich auf einmal zu Deutsch wechseln w?rde, w?hre das f?r das Forum kein Problem. Einzig die Moderatoren w?rden sich nicht dar?ber freuen ^^ll
hope that answered your question!^^

All posts on the forum are required to be in English.

There is no translation function available. English is taught from an early age in primary/elementary schools in many countries, which is likely the reason as to why many of our users who do not speak English as their first language have a strong command of the language.

Das racist

Maybe you guys could have an international board for people who speak other languages to speak to each other.

The issue with this is that we cannot moderate content if we don't understand the language.

True, could be an issue if people repeatedly used cuss words in those languages and they are not in some kind of filter. Dunno how many of ya speak more languages fluently but yeah it'd probably take time to set up int'l boards and try having them monitored as is.

Yo no creo que los moderadores pueden hacer una systema para que los palabras de otro idioma puedan hacer cambiado al Ingles. Me imagino que los personas que no pueden entender el Ingles no podran usar este sitio muy bien.

(I dont think the moderators could make a system to automatically change foreign language to English. I presume that people who can't understand English can't really use this site.)

Whatever you do, please don't add Spanish. There won't be a single word written in English if you add Spanish, so please.....

Yo no veo muchos hispanohablantes en este sitio web, pero tu pareces como una persona que cree que hispanos quieren conquistar el eeuu. Tus padres son problamente republicanos

But.. the best way to learn a new language is to be permanently exposed to it ((via overrunning the forums)
