Digital or physical edition?

I had pre-installed the digital game already, and probably gonna get another physical game card later when I ready to start my second island, lol

It is only 1 island for switch, in case you didn’t know :)

Just a note that you can only have one island per system! So if you buy a physical copy later you'll have to use it on an entirely different system to get a second island. Not sure if you knew that c:

As for the answer to this thread, digital!! I really prefer physical copies, but the thought of being able to play it for an hour during my lunch break at work and not having to worry about getting to the store to pick up my copy/having to worry about late delivery. Digital just seems to be better suited for me and my situation this time.

No, just that some shops give out physical copies a day before they are supposed to release.

Yes, but "some shops" doesn't equate to a benefit for the majority of buyers or the OP as that may be 0.001% of shops in the world.

I stated my preference as OP has asked and if you don't agree then that's fine.

I'm going to get a physical copy only because it's animal crossing, lol. I just want the hard copy of it. But for other games I will be going digital to save space and not have to carry around with all my games :3

I think it's a good point! I'm leaning digital but I haven't bought yet specifically because I'm hoping a store near me will put them out early! Has it ever happened to you before? Any tips?

I'm gonna get the physical copy, mainly because I kinda prefer them over digital. Besides, I want the case of the game as I want to display it on my shelf.

Well, I like displaying my game cases, so I'll be getting digital so I can put it on a shelf.

It has happened three times for me with games that I pre-ordered from GameStop. What I heard of other people is that they tried to get the game the day close to closing time and even asked staff there, if they could already sell the game.
I don't know if that works where you are from, since I'm from Germany. Otherwise digital would definitely be faster.

I'm doing physical because I have always done that with all games, even when they first introduced digital games. It's kinda nice to have it in my hands too and I love collecting the box it comes with.

Preordered a physical one on amazon a few days ago :)

Honestly, I am conflicted on whether or not to buy New Horizons physically or digitally. I usually buy my games physical because I like having the box art and seeing the little cartridge. However, Animal Crossing is my favorite game series so it would be nice to have the game digitally because that means I would always have it with me on my Switch.

physical copy. i want to hold that sweet tiny cart with my fingers and then cry

I always get physical copies for video games, so I plan to do the same for NH. I have this perhaps irrational fear about my game console breaking or something and being unable to transfer data.

Since the save data isn’t on the card, you’d have the same problem....

I prefer physical because I can sell the game later if I want to, althougt I know I won't sell my animal crossing

Physical, I like to collect physical stuff and the box is cute. I had new leaf physical but sadly lost the box thank goodness I still have the cartridge though.

physical! along with liking to collect them, if i get a switch light to save on wrist strength (i usually play in handheld mode and our normal switch is way too heavy for that), i can have two saves.
