Just curious if anyone else has any collections. I just started collecting Yugioh cards. I used to collect Pokémon cards then I lost a lot of them over the years and it’s kind of hard to get back into now since scalpers buy up all of them and you can only get them online for prices 10 times higher than they normally would be. I guess it’s took off in popularity recently. I’m having fun getting into Yugioh cards though
I looooove collecting dolphin stuffed animals. Dolphins are my fav animal so as a kid I always wanted dolphin related stuff. I have a bunch from when I was a kid and I still buy some dolphin stuffed animals to this day. I actually bought one a few weeks ago while on a mini-cation.
TOMY Pokémon figurines, since like 1999. I have 200+ figures I think. Wish I could afford a non-bootleg gastly and haunter but the cheapest is like $77 per figure on ebay if you're lucky
Yes, I have many collections. I collect dolls of all kinds, from porcelain to Barbie and everything in between. I also collect stuffed animals and figurines.
I have a small comic book collection of just my three favorite titles: Kabuki, Sandman, and Death. I collect any and all Kabuki merchandise.
I collect anything related to fairies. I have shirts, figures, dolls, pictures, etc.
I collect notebooks, notepads, pens, and stationary.
I have a very large collection of books. Once I buy a book, I never get rid of it. I have a lot of nice, leather-bound, gold-leaf copies of the classics. I also collect bookmarks.
I used to collect keychains, but I haven't bought any new ones in years.
I collect anime merchandise for the shows I love.
There's probably more, but that's all I can think of right now.
Vinyl records, old Johnny's Entertainment merch, Tie-dye clothes, to an extent cute plushies as well. I could say expensive boho clothes too but it's mostly from a designer I really like and some of her cheaper stuff.
Used to collect way more stuff but I've had to throw/give away some cause I have a hoarding issue LOL.
Tarot decks (especially queer, disabled, and/or BIPoC created decks, I have an addiction to Little Red Tarot's entire stock honestly) and cuddly toys/plushies (especially Moulin Roty ones)
uwu
Eep, I have a tendency to collect stuff. I trimmed down my collections two years ago when we renovated our home. Because, when we were packing our stuff into boxes, I ended up being the one in the family with the most number of boxes to move. I was... shocked at myself.
I had hundreds of imported anime DVDs. I gave most of them away. The ones I've kept are Gankutsuou, Rurouni Kenshin and a limited edition boxed set of Cowboy Bebop. And a few DVDs imported from Japan.
Also I'd amassed over 600 manga tankoubon. Again, I gave away most of them, including entire sets of One Piece, Death Note, Saiyuki, Getbackers, Lone Wolf and Cub, etc. The ones I chose to keep are Rurouni Kenshin, Slam Dunk, Mushishi and some BL manga.
Artbooks celebrating anime or manga. Over 50 of them. Kept all of them. Artbooks are so beautiful! Seeing the gorgeous illustrations inside always fills me with admiration and awe at the artist's amazing talent and wonderful imagination. Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, One Piece, Saiyuki, etc. Also some BL ones.
Paper. I like paper. I've collected a lot of paper. Origami paper, gift wrap, pretty letter pads. Which is okay because I like making things with paper, so I do use a lot of it. Modular origami, shadow boxes, cards, etc. I think I have too much paper. At the same time, I don't think I have enough.
Little things, which are cat, anime or manga related. This collection of little things started when I made multiple trips to Japan over the past two decades. I bought them from anime stores like Animate, shops selling pre-owned anime merchandise in Ikebukuro, gacha machines found everywhere in Japan especially in Akihabara. With the pandemic, we can't travel, but last week I put in a preorder for a Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen) figure that will be released only in August. I love my anime figures. Some small ones, some big ones. I look at them every day. My favourite is one of Houzuki (Houzuki no Reitetsu). It was an Animate exclusive figure, the Oni ni Kanabo version. Came in a gorgeous box. Usurped half the space in my luggage. Also nendoroid figures. Houzuki, Tora (Ushio to Tora), L (Death Note), Kougami (Psycho Pass), etc.
My Trafalgar Law (One Piece) figure is another favourite. (These are my photos.)
Lastly, I collect tillandsia. Also called airplants. I've over 50 of them. It's not as intimidating as it sounds. My tillandsia are mostly not large plants (about palm-sized and smaller) and, because they aren't potted, they're clean, space-saving plants. I keep them at my bay window. Been growing them for 5 years now.
I cannot believe how much time I've spent on this post. Sorry for the wall of text. Old people tend to ramble.
I collect bouncy balls! I thought they were the most exciting thing when I was a kid so every time I passed one of those machines where you put in a coin and a random bouncy ball comes out, I'd get one. I have about 60 stockpiled in a container, I still love them because they're all so different and colouful.
i used to collect pens but i don’t anymore because i barely write now. i collect fancy looking target barrettes now but it isn’t a serious collection lol
Also yes as a kid I collected everything from manga, stickers, erasers, bouncy balls, key rings, and what not out there. Also books which I still kinda do but yeah again I have to give away some every now and then or the apartment would be a warehouse lol.
I collect books I guess,, I have quite a nice collection of clothbound classics and a big fancy leather-bound version of Dracula that I can't wait to put on my shelf once I've put it up (I have to wait until my new floor is installed before putting up new furniture). I also have a lot of fantasy and history books, and some graphic novels.
In the near future though I'd love to start collecting vinyl records too,,
Oh and I used to have a decent Hyperdimension Neptunia collection as well, but I gave away more or less everything of it. Mostly because I lost interest or never used it. Also sold some of the games as well.
I collect Pokemon cards casually, meaning I buy a couple packs every year or so and keep them all in a binder. I guess I also collect candles since I have a lot of them, and jewelry.
When I was younger though I was a huge collector. I use to collect stickers and I had a sticker book and box that I would put them in. I also collected pencils, erasers, pencil grips, bouncy balls, rocks, key chains, pins, and other small kid stuff like that. Now I really value minimalism, and having a few things I love vs having a lot of things I like, so I don't really collect anything that takes up too much space.
when i was younger, it was stamps, beanie babies and yugioh cards. (i've never seen anything about yugioh, i just thought the cards looked cool.) now it's enamel pins and, to a slightly lesser extent, flareon/vaporeon merch. the latter depends largely on cost and then just whether or not i like the look of the merch. i also kind of collect rabbit plushies? not on purpose though. ever since my girlfriend started calling me "bunny", i've just kind of taken a liking to them. honestly, there are probably a lot of things i'd collect if it wasn't for cost and/or space. i have a few funko pops, but not enough to be considered a collection. i've got some pokemon cards and wouldn't mind having more, but they're pretty expensive (especially given all the different sets) as well as some MLP cards and little figures (funko ones, i think?). i wouldn't mind having more of those three things, but space is a big issue and they all rely on luck. you never know which cards are going to be in which packet (and the secondhand market is insane for a lot of them) or what figure is going to be in which blind-box. it's like an irl gacha.
