I chose the second option, but i’m half and half. I have things I like about where I live, and things i despise, of course.
1.) I live in northern california in the lake tahoe area!
2.) Half and half. I love the greenery, the forests, the nature, the fact that it’s a small cozy town on the lake. I just recently moved to the town I’m living in currently, and enjoy it much more than the town over that I was living in for three years, but it’s still half and half for me. It’s absolutely beautiful here and I don’t think I could thrive somewhere that doesn’t have forests. I’m definitely not a city person, that’s for sure.
3.) I don’t hate this town, but I’m definitely not its number 1 fan. I hate how many tourists come up here, I hate how many rich people live here and have 10 different lakeside properties that they never use (we need to eat the rich), I absolutely hate how little diversity exists up here, and how many racists, homophobes, transphobes, and/or literal nazis live in this town, i hate how everything is at an unlivable expense because it’s a tourist hot spot, and i hate how cliquey this town is, not to mention how small it is, so everybody knows e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y and everything. Imagine a high school with endless preppy white girls who hate anybody who refuses to conform, along with their white suburban wine moms who threaten to speak to the manager, and multiply that by 500. That’s how cliquey this town is.
4.) Yes. Though as much as I dislike this town at times, it terrifies me to leave. I get scared of trying new things, and of change, even though change is healthy and positive (most times) and happens constantly.
5.) If I had the money to leave, I’d either move to:
-Beaverton, Oregon (a little town right outside of Portland) because there is the nature and greenery while also having access and accessibility in the city.
-Quebec, Canada because it’s green, lush, beautiful, accessible, and NOT part of the united states. Thank god for that.
-Anywhere in Ireland, because it’s so beautiful there and I’d love to experience everything new that Ireland has to offer.
-Anywhere in Japan. Probably closer to Kyoto, or in the outskirts of Tokyo, in a small forested town.
