I'm not gonna lie... I love taking naps. In elementary school I was one of those kids who never slept during nap time and it's honestly one of my biggest regrets. I'd kill to have that allotted nap time now. Typically when I work these days I get off of work too late to take naps so by the time I'm home I'll have to get ready to go to sleep for the night. But on my days off I'll happily indulge in taking random naps whenever I want haha. It feels so refreshing to be able to take a short rest whenever you need. If you do take naps, how long do you typically sleep for? Is there a specific time of day you like to nap?

I’ll do it if I feel like it, but considering I run on night owl and third shift schedule, I’m not sure what times you’d consider taking a nap. If I’m tired, I’ll sleep. It’s that simple for me.

Generally speaking, no I cannot stand to take naps. Sleeping for just a short period of time doesn't help to refresh me. Instead, it makes me feel groggy and way worse than I did before the nap. I didn't nap as a child either. My parents had to tell my pre-school that I wasn't required to nap and I was allowed to just sit quietly on my mat while the other kids napped.

However, what I can sometimes do if I'm tired enough is go back to bed as long as it's still in the morning. If I've only been up for an hour or so, then I can lay back down and sleep for an extra few hours. But that's my problem, I can't just sleep for an hour or less. It makes me feel terrible.

Throughout high school and university I used to take naps all the time since I did a horrible job of actually getting enough sleep during the night, but nowadays I actually get enough sleep so I almost never take naps now.

One day in kindergarten I didn't (pretend to) nap, and the teacher refused me my afternoon snack.
I hate naps.
That's fair. I used to [pretend] to sleep for our naps and just did random stuff in the classroom while it was dark. The best part was shaking the other kids awake.

I will sometimes if I'm really sleepy/tired, but I prefer not to because I usually wake up feeling weird or even anxious afterwards. ;; When I was a teenager, though, I was basically constantly sleepy and I found 15-20 minute power naps to be super helpful, but it's not as easy for me to do now.

i love naps, but i'm terrible at taking them because i'm the kind of person who just conks out and sleeps for hours and hours on end and doesn't wake up very easily when they're trying to just take a quick nap, so what WAS supposed to be an evening nap always turns into me waking up at 3 am very confused and disoriented. so i don't take them often </3

I only take naps when I'm really tired or did not sleep enough hours. They're usually about 1-2 hours. This doesn't happen often now because I'm a babysitter for my nephew; and it's hard to sleep comfortably when you're responsible for keeping a child alive. I remember taking a nap everyday during my depression days.

Hmm. I actually had to think for a bit. I picked " wth I'm not old! " even though I am old.

Does napping actually have anything to do with age? I have no idea. I just know I've never napped. Even when I was a kid, I never napped. Unless I was ill. Now I'm in my late 50s and I still don't nap. A few years back, when I found myself getting tired and napping in the late afternoon, I had blood tests done and discovered I had hypothyroidism. I started taking medication for it and stopped napping. Yay!

Even though I don't nap, I do like to sleep. I look forward to sleeping each night. I make sure I get at least 6-7 hours of sleep every day. I like being asleep since it's the only time I can get any peace and quiet in my head. 🤪

I didn't used to, but I think I'm getting old now cause I nap a lot :')

Usually after I get back from work, my boyfriend makes dinner and I have a nap until it's ready

I nap most days. My whole sleeping schedule is very messed up though, so I need a nap to recharge. I’m a night owl so I go to sleep very late. I also have the earliest shift at work, so I get barely any sleep.

every once in a while, but i try to resist the constant urge because a) it never makes me feel any more awake afterwards, and b) it usually makes it harder for me to sleep "on time" later that night. if it's early in the day (between 1-3PM), i might go down for 90 minutes, since i think that's what they recommend, but sometimes even just that is enough to screw my pattern up.

No. my normal sessions of sleep are 12-14 hours. If I dare to take a nap it’ll last at least 3 hours, which isn’t even a nap in the end

I nap from time to time, it usually doesn't mess up my bedtime time too much for me (thankfully). I don't get to work a consistent schedule so some nights I don't get nearly enough sleep and naps help supplement that. I'm probably gonna take a nap later today because it's one of those days today lol

Chronically ill, so naps are kind of an inevitability for me, especially if my light sensitivity or migraines are playing up and I need to lie down in a dark room :’) I don’t always plan to have them, but I normally hit a bit of the day where I just can’t keep my eyes open, which happened waaaay before I was diagnosed too, I was always falling asleep in classes and on transport. I fall asleep listening to podcasts a lot and wake up disorientated later in the episode :’) Naps are a pretty good escape from pain, but don’t help with the exhaustion much. I feel like a cat with how much I sleep.
