Edit: I see you voting "no" in the polling option after the Nintendo Direct has already come and gone. It doesn't make you look any more special ;P Sorry, guys, I don't remember how to close polls from the mobile site, haha

OP:
It's obvious we're due for a Nintendo Direct soon. Question is, do you believe (use logic, not your hopes and dreams) that Animal Crossing Switch will make an appearance in the next Nintendo Direct and finally get a solid release date? Or do you believe they will focus on other games istead? Curious to see what others are thinking.

My Nintendo Direct Theory:
I think the next Direct will be held on Valentine's Day because Joker from Persona 5 will "steal your heart" and finally be added to the Smash DLC roster. There is absolutely nothing to back this up, so don't take this as anything serious.

I suppose it's possible but I think it's still a bit early. I'm expecting the reveal to be in April/May with the game releasing in fall. My money is on Fire Emblem being shown at the next Direct.

I am expecting at least a mention of where the game is progress-wise since it is suppose to coming out this year if it is a general direct. Any footage shown would be a bonus for me honestly.

I feel that it's likely since we still know absolutely nothing about the game so far and if it's meant to be releasing this year, I'd expect something in the next direct or the following direct.

While you never know for real what Nintendo would show in a Direct, part of me believes
that they will say something about it, even if it's not that much, maybe a title drop and
a little first look into the gameplay. I mean, another part of me is not sure if they would
say something at all, it would be pretty disappointing if they not mentioned it and we
have to wait again till we finally get some news. Best case scenario would be the
announcement of a Animal Crossing only Direct, but I guess the chances for that
aren't that high...

That's really cute! I hope they do that.

Tbh I can't say one way or another, but I'm not getting my hopes up so I won't be disappointed. I'm just glad we know we're definitely getting it this year.

At most we would probably get a trailer for it.

I kinda think Animal Crossing for the Switch was confirmed in order to prevent a major backlash with Isabelle being added into Smash Ultimate from AC fans hoping for a new game. I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets delayed.

I'm sure they're going to say something about it soon. A spot in the next direct would be ideal, but even just a little news article would be better than the nothing we've heard since September. I don't see them not touching on it when the next direct comes out.

i want them to but idk who knows. i just want it to release soon >:-(

I think it will show up. Maybe the reason the Direct is taking awhile to happen is because they are ensuring they can get proper teasers/trailers of every game, including AC.

I think we will for sure, but the question is, When IS the next direct. It's February and we've basically no clue on when ANY of the big hitter games are coming out. What on earth is going on at nintendo? I don't know. I'm hoping and praying the direct is next week, but I somehow get the feeling, if it's not next week, we could be waiting till march, and I mean like, mid March, because very few general news directs take place in the second half of the month. Then again nintendos E3 presentations of late have been lackluster and only focus on one game, so perhaps they no longer account for e3 in conjunction with the nintendo direct.

Because it's already February and we still haven't heard anything. This is the year the game is supposed to be released.

Hm, ok, but there are still 10 months to go, February isn't over either so there is still time to
say something about it in a Direct and release it. I would understand you more at this point
if we have it already September or October, but we are just at the beginning of 2019. Also,
we didn't got any informations of Luigi's Mansion 3 or Bayonetta 3 as well and nobody says
that they getting delayed too.

I wouldn't lose the hope just that quick. I know, the wait sucks, but yeah. The game will
come out this year, all what we need is just the information from Nintendo and that could
be that one Direct everyone wants since January...

I don't think Nintendo would be so reckless as to push it back another year. Animal Crossing isn't something like Metroid in where they have an entire game that needs scrapped because they didn't like where it was going. There's no storyline or anything to follow. They've had ample time to work on it and the September Smash Direct was a very bold start. It would be extremely stupid to drop something like that and then just ignore it.

Definitely a mention of the game and possibly a release date. I think they might announce Smash DLC and Fire Emblem. Pokemon will also be somewhere this year if it's a November/December release so they need to split that and Animal Crossing
