i really really enjoy that option. they won?t allow us to have multiple islands, so the fact that we can customize basically EVRRY part of this island is cool to see because then we won?t get bored with our islands too quickly!!! i?m super super excited

Yes and no. As someone who plays a lot of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (to the point where I've lost cooling fans on older laptops), I am HORRIBLE at terraforming and would probably keep the base island as is and treat it more like a more customizable New Leaf. Probably a bit too much in my case.

However, it's a good thing for people who don't want to be stuck with the pre-rendered island layouts. Even after selecting a starting island, at the end of it all "No two islands will ever have the same layout" could be a literal thing for every single island out there in the digital land of multiplayer gaming.

Also, if anyone fills in all the fresh water on their island to make a literal island surrounded by nothing but saltwater ocean, make to share to any funny stories relating to that, yes? :3

You don't have to customize the island if you don't want to! But I'm honestly looking forward to it a ton, It will allow you to create your PERFECT dream island & just overall adds way more customizability

Completely reshaping the landscape is not something I've ever been into in any game. Personally, when I play a game, I like to feel like I've stepped into that world, and having too much control can break that immersion for me. Even in Minecraft, a game all about creating what you want, I usually just build on top of the landscape that's already there. It's great for people who want it, but I'll probably use it sparingly.

I freaked out when I saw that. In a good way!

This means that nobody really should get the reset bug since you can literally change anything you don?t like about your island. I?m assuming there?s limitations but it didn?t really look like it. You can add more to the river or take some of it away. You can add or take away cliffs. I?m assuming you can destroy rocks.

It’s a lot...but it at least appears to be a late-game feature, so you’ll have to adjust to the natural terrain before going beserk. I’m sure it’ll be useful, so I’m keeping an open mind.

For years ac fans have begged for terraforming and nintendo is finally giving us what we asked for! I dont think it is too much at all as the direct even described it as optional. It's just for people who want to change aspects of their island which I think is amazing!

I think it's an AMAZING addition and that it'll enable so many customization possibilities!
And I mean... if you don't like it, don't use it! That's the whole spirit of the game, do what YOU want with your island! They've already said this before, if you don't want to build houses or ammenities, just don't!

I personally won't use it because it'll feel less like animal crossing to me if I can completely modify and make my layers/rivers look weird. I do think it's kinda too much customization, feels a little like the Sims to me, or Minecraft... But a lot of people are excited about it. So it's cool they can use that, it totally gets rid of the need for landscape hacking entirely.

I mean, Animal Crossing IS a series you take at your own pace. You're not rushed in the slightest to do it all in one go!

I love it!! I think it'll give us lots of freedom to do what we want on our islands as well as really edit to make it our own, I hope you can straighten out nooks in the river or even on the cliff as things like that really annoyed me in new leaf, especially when trying to place a bridge or something.

I hope that this means we'll also be able to either move or destroy rocks as park of the editing permit

nope not at all, i'm looking forward to visiting people's islands and seeing what they do with it . it was prob my favourite new feature, the amount of customisability they added to nh is mindblowing to me and i can't wait!

i don't think it's too much in my opinion; i was honestly shook when they showed that feature lol. i think that it's something i'll use maybe after a year or two of playing on my island but honestly, i might just dive into it. i want to make a star shaped or heart shaped pond next to my house lol. i wonder if any changes you make with the terraforming will show up on the map because the direct didn't really show the map after the changes.
