Features that were removed from the game since Launch (2020)

Okay, so if Nintendo took out the hybrid islands and presumably removed nature day to prevent farming Nook Miles quickly(?) and the like why does it actually matter if players farm them quickly, like maybe they didn't want people to farm everything quickly so then they would get bored but like why does it matter how fast people obtain items in the game if their just having fun isn't that all that matters? Who cares if they get stuff quickly Nature day was cool and I never got to do it nor go to the hybrid islands.
I was so angry that I never got a chance to see a Hybrid island. This would've been helpful at the time when I was looking for blue flowers.

Honestly the way Nintendo handled New Horizons altogether was just odd. And I get that the pandemic had a lot to do with it. But its almost like they had a bunch of ideas but couldnt figure how to work with them and simply threw them out, even though many of these ideas existed seamlessly in past games. And the deletion of Hybrid flower island was just weird. It really does seem to me like the game was handled by new coders/programmers instead of past veterans working on the series.

Click bait.

No feature was removed. They tweaked the game after it was released and ironed out bugs. Fourth level, especially, was never designed to be accessible,

Didn't CJ use to have two different coloured eyes? Blue and same green as both are now. It made my brain twist up when seeing him again after coming back after a long break with two eyes of the same colour. Very confusing. But maybe it was just a trick of the light, making me think that they were different colours? Or it's a mandela effect.

Isn't that Raymond?

I remember being really sad because I thought there were 2 different hybrird islands?? Or maybe not.. I just remember going to one of them and my inventory was full so I hoped to visit it again but by the time I saved up more tickets and I still hadnt found one they patched it out for no reason???? ALSO WASNT THE INTEREST THE SAME IN EVERY GAME??? LIKE NINTENDOOO WHY DID YOU MAKE IT USELESSSSSSS. It was so much better. Like people are always going to be glitching, duping, and hacking. There is nothing we can do about it so why punish the other players 😭 I understand patching dupe glitches but killing off interest, hyrbrid islands, nature day, and not letting you do holidays early? I never time travel but alot of people play the holidays maybe the day before the real one so they can spend time with their families. ugh I wish NH was handled better overall.... I guess its okay though because its fun now but seriously the ride to where we are in NH today was awful.

I remember going to the hybrid island once. I was not looking for that island as it was on the first few days of the release of the game. There was a pond in the middle surrounded by purple chrysanthemums. That's pretty much it. I brought back some purple mums.

I can reassure you, the hybrid island is not a long lost paradise.

I’m pretty sure hybrid island is the only actual feature removed? It’s a shame but I think it was in an attempt to save the blue rose economic crisis xD

Hilarious that people still think the game is lacking content. Trolling at its finest.

99% sure hybrid island(s) was removed because it wasn't a "fair" island, as it relied on the native/sister flowers on each island. That meant that some people had an inherent "advantage" since some species had far rarer hybrids- which meant that for example, one of the game's hardest "quest", getting a blue rose, was made a little bit trivial for only some of the players. Nintendo realized this and while you could say "who cares if someone has it easier", the devs probably didn't mean to have slight handicaps in place- thus the islands getting removed fast.

All other things are such non-issues, but it's 2022 and people still need to desperately cling onto something to channel their trollish dislike of NH. The only one that is kind of sad to see gone is the museum upgrade, but I got to experience it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The special NM+ for Nature Day were a fun thing the first time around in order to give a little extra oomph for the first big update, which wasn't needed for the next year.

Nintendo handled the game extremely well considering the amount of crybabies out there with their nothing arguments, I would have been a little snarky with all the updates tbqh. (Although so many people want their npcs to bully them so they feel "real", so they'd probably been fine with some passive aggressiveness?)
