im interested in hearing other peoples opinion on this. I used to dislike pretzels as a kid, but now find myself consuming them pretty regularly. I could even say I really really like pretzels. I wonder why this changed? its also similar to my experience with mushrooms.

what are foods you've grown to like?

When I was younger I used to hate potato salad, and tbh even now if it's not made right I still don't really like it. But recently my dad bought a few different kinds from the store and I've realized it's really good to eat with a hamburger/hot dog/any other backyard bbq kinda food. :)

Yes pretzels are amazing! In terms of food that I didn't used to like but now love, the number one thing is probably brie and other weird cheeses. I even tried them when I was young a few times, but I think the fact they had a weird slimy texture just put me off back then, whereas now I absolutely love brie, goats cheese, and even blue cheese when I get the chance to have some. Mushrooms are also up there, for pretty much the same reason as brie, the slimy texture. This also might be a bit broad, but honestly most vegetables and fruits other than the basic carrots/apples/bananas I was brought up with. I used to think of them as putrid merely because of the way all my friends portrayed them. Now I love many different types, and try to mix it up a bit and get some vegetables I haven't tried every now and then and they usually always taste pretty good (I do also mix up fruit but not nearly as often, because the exotic ones can be quite expensive :x).

for some reason i hated chicken when i was younger, now it’s the only protein i eat haha. also pretzels are great, and i have also grown to like them more than i did when i was young

I have several now:

I used to hate any type of mustard but now certain types are good to me (depending on the platform).

I couldn’t stand any type of okra until I tried it pickled.

Asparagus was disgusting to me. Until my mom baked some fresh with Parmesan cheese.

I can tolerate zucchini now.

I’m actually the least pickiest of my siblings and I’m usually game to try most things out.

I hated sushi. Now it's my favorite food ever.
I also wasn't too fond of burgers but I love them now.

1. Salmon. I barely ate them when I was young but I eventually tried baked salmon without seasoning on it. Now I find myself enjoying the taste from that fish and trying different dishes of it.

2. Mustard. I always refuse to have them on a burger but after trying it a few more times, I really didn't mind anymore.

3. Onions. Initially, I despised how it tasted like and how it can make me cry when cutting them. When I tried them in a subway sandwich, they weren't too bad! Eventually, I branched out to trying onions on different food pairings and I came to love them so much. I prefer freshly cut red onions for their crunchy texture. It's become my favourite vegetable of all time, even if it makes me cry and stinky lol.

Kimchi. I'm a giant spice wimp. Still am but a lot less now.

Asparagus and artichokes. Asparagus is delicious baked with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Artichoke dip is delicious. I'm pretty sure I hated both of them growing up because my mom would boil the flavor and color out of them.

I’ve always thought that sushi was disgusting when I was younger, and now it’s literally my favorite food. I think it’s because of the nori (seaweed) that I didn’t like, but now I can tolerate it.

I was really picky growing up, reluctant to eat a lot of things like onions, nut-based dishes, lots of things with tomato in it. As I grew up and started cooking for myself more I realized that these foods are generally pretty good. I'm still developing my taste everyday but all in all I'm much less picky now than before.

Since I stopped eating meat it’s been spicy foods. I used to hate spicy anything now it’s just so good.

I did not like mayo or mustard (especially on hamburgers). I was a ketchup kind of kid (except on hamburgers, again). Now I consume a lot of mayo and mustard and I refuse to really have ketchup unless it’s mixed with one of the two (can’t tememver which) for French frie dip.

Used to strongly dislike broccoli and asparagus when I was really young, then I started liking it when I was a teenager, and now I love the stuff.

i can't imagine me ever liking mushrooms aaaa. but when i was younger i'd instantly throw up if i eat the yolk of an egg and now i think it's rly yummy!

Most foods. I was a picky eater as a kid and now I'll eat pretty much anything - with the exception of garden peas and pie crust.

Pizza. Even the smell of it would be nauseating sometimes and I didn't like cheese either (still don't like it but there are a few exceptions). Every time it was the school lunch I'd give it to my friends.
I think it's only been a couple years that I've liked it? I saw someone eating it and it looked really appetizing so I gave it another shot and started eating it since then. I can only eat it if it's covered in meat toppings though

Canned corn -- I like my fresh foods, but due to when most corn is canned it ends up being sweeter than most cobs on the market.

As a child, I totally despised peas, string beans, and cabbage. Now, I really enjoy them ☺️
