Gold Roses: don't get it XD

They're just so different from all the other flowers that they look stupid if you try to pair them with anything else, so they are pretty much doomed to stand alone. They might be alright with some of the golden items? But I don't like those either...

There probably is a use for them but I sure have not found it yet!

I'd agree that they're way too flamboyant for my tastes. They really stick out, especially with the themes/colors I often go for.

But I suppose I would try growing a couple just to say that I did it. Self-high five and all that!

I actually really like the look of the gold rose! It kinda confuses me when people say they look cheap lol. I like how they did the lighting on the gold and how the stems are gold as well. They would look really cute around a sphinx or pyramid.

I'm definitely in the middle for them. I think they can look really nice. They don't have the best look in NH; I agree that they were definitely prettier in NL.

When they're just plopped around and mixed in with normal flowers they can tend to look a bit out of place, but I really love the look of them with white roses and around zodiac items! Seeing them near items with hints of gold really makes them blend nicely, since in normal woodsy areas on islands they'll just kind of look out of place. I think they can look a little 2D and cheap in some situations, but when used properly I think they can really add to decor!

I finally got some, but I plan to only have them in a few spots - decorating the waterfalls behind my house with some white and black lilies and as the flower on Redd's beach.

They are the most efficient way to make money once you have the gold rose wreath DIY. Your only income limit is how many you wish to grow. Presently I earn 200,000 bells every 2 days doing nothing except spending five minutes picking them and crafting wreaths. Kind of hard to argue with. Don't have to mess with turnips or catching creatures. It's the closest you can come to purely automated income in this game.

I liked them a lot in New Leaf because they fit my theme/color scheme which was mainly pink and white, and I used gold roses as accent pieces. Now in New Horizons they don't go with my color scheme (deep blue, pink, and purple) so I don't use them. I do like them though, and I think they can look really good!

I spent a lot of time trying to grow gold roses early on because I thought the gold would go with everything, AKA I could mix them into my pink color scheme. I planted a few by my entrance, but the more I look at them, the more unsure about them I am. I really wish, as was said, that the stems weren't gold too. It's just too much. And the shade of gold they used is more of a loud yellow gold than a pleasant elegant gold. I don't know where to plant them where they won't look fake/out of place!

I think they would be amazing on certain islands, I'm just coming around to the conclusion that they clash with mine!

I’m using mine in front of the bridge to the campsite RN because I do have DIYs I want to use them in! I really do wish they were lighter color or less......what’s the word? Not natural looking. Even the blue roses look like they could be real, but not the gold

My take on gold roses it to use them in front of graves so that my cemetery looks like a martyr's cemetery that's attracted people to pay tribute to them by offering gold roses.

Other than that, I really hated decorating with them lol

yeah, i hate it as well. tacky asf. it looked better in new leaf for some reason probably because of the poor quality lmao. still i can't just get rid of them because it's rare, so it's hidden near the secret beach beach house and i set it next to black roses so there's a contrast. but my gosh, what an out of place coloring. i find that it looks better when it's scattered.

Tacky is the key word here. My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't wish them to never make a return since some people like them, but they're just not for me. They really do look out of place.

But I also don't think it's that unpopular. Personally, I like 'em, but in moderation. I don't really get the people who I've seen basically blanket their whole islands/towns with them, but to each their own. I have three gold roses on my island- I have them strategically placed around my haunted house to add some extra mystery to the area!
