This is likely an unpopular opinion, so trigger warning :D but I really don't get the appeal of gold roses besides the accomplishment of growing them! I think that, because the entire rose including the stem and leaves look gold, it ends up looking really one-dimensional, flat, unnatural and a bit tacky. I find them really hard to use, so I just hide all of the gold roses on my island and keep them only so I can harvest them for gold roses recipes to make for gifts. Have you guys seen gold roses used in an effective manner? Really curious to see what other ideas are out there!

I made two American flags using only roses, with the obvious red, white, and blue roses. I then made a flag pole out of black roses, with the gold acting as the little ball that sits atop the pole.

I also decorated around Mott's house with them. He represents my best friend, and my best friend is a Golden State Warriors season ticket holder.

Other than that, nope, I don't use them much.

I have some in my (rectangular) rainbow garden. I’m not sure what I’m doing with the ones that randomly appear when it rains. I’m leaving then where they spawn for now but I will need that space soon

I only have a small handful to go around the pond of my museum because of all the zodiac furniture around. Sorry for the potato quality. But yeah, I think they are pretty tacky and I don't making flower mixes with them. I don't get how people can have giant fields of golden roses and not think it looks super fake.

yeah, i hate it as well. tacky asf. it looked better in new leaf for some reason probably because of the poor quality lmao. still i can't just get rid of them because it's rare, so it's hidden near the secret beach beach house and i set it next to black roses so there's a contrast. but my gosh, what an out of place coloring. i find that it looks better when it's scattered.

I think they looked a lot better in nl honestly
However, I do think that they have their uses, and I've seen them used well to match the colour themes of certain areas in peoples towns.

I see most people use them for villagers that are royal like, like Ankha or Elvis. Personally don’t mind them. I like to have every flower for just cause but they aren’t my favorite. Not a eyesore to me either.

Somebody kindly gave me one as a 'free gift' when I bought some hybrids from them.

Whilst I appreciated the gesture, I was left staring at this fake-looking tacky mess, wondering how I might incorporate it into my woodland island with a limited palette of flowers.

I don't want any of the DIYs it's needed for, so I gave it to my friend who proudly displays it among her multicoloured tropical flower fields.

i kept them to sell it but aesthetically its not all that appealing. each rose sells for 1k and if you craft the wreath it goes for 10k. The closest thing I've IRL is plucked rose at the florist that was spray painted gold.

I agree I don't see the appeal to them either so I don't mind not growing them lol plus it'll look weird on my rustic/overgrown themed island, idk maybe if they made the stem and leaves natural then maybe it'll look way better than it currently is, it looks fake and tacky rather than opulent imo

I stopped playing before getting them, but having seen them on other islands I didn't feel like I was missing much at all. If they wanted a special tier of rose, they could have went with the Juliet Rose.

It's the rarest rose in the world, was artificially created over 15 years and looks markedly different from other rose varieties with a gradient color scheme on top of the differences in petals.

I see their appeal for certain designs e.g.: winter wonderland, laboratory (creating something unnatural), or portion of a spooky-themed island. Could also work in contrast with natural-looking objects such as green mums or the log furniture but I've never liked them or liked using them.
