I have 1335 hours logged in this game yet I still have never seen a single flea. It's the only thing I'm still missing from my museum.

I've finished the fossil section, and I'm really close to finishing the bug section

Finished the fossils and fish, need the dung beetle for the bugs, spider crab for the sea creatures, and then a whole slew of art.

Really? That's suprising! I've caught several fleas and I've logged only 350hrs in this game. I'm not sure if you know how to catch them but they appear on your villagers and the villagers will tell you how itchy they are.

Fossils and deep sea creatures are completed. The last items was the amber and spiny lobster.

For the fish, I'm missing the snakehead and bugs is all the summer ones which is my current season.

I assume its the same as new leaf, my villagers just never seem to have them, not sure if it's because I time travel or not

not yet! i’ve completed the fossil, art and fish exhibits and am just waiting on the last 3 critters that i need in order to reach completion ☺.

good luck with catching a flea, though!! i find that their spawn rate can be pretty scarce + with how small they are, they can be hard to see but hopefully you’ll be able to find one, soon!

All that's left for me is the Dung Beetle for bugs, then the Firefly Squid & Spider Crab for deep-sea critters.

Everything else has been completed thanks to trading with lots of people. The pond smelt that became available this month helped me finish the fish exhibit a few days ago.

Those deep-sea critters aren't available until March next year though. At least for northern hemisphere.

Regarding dung beetles, once you have snow, make sure you have open space for snowballs to appear. They're a lot harder to find if you have flowers and pathways everywhere!

Only fossils are complete. I don't time travel so art will take ages. Fish and bugs I think will be completed within two years since I know I've missed some but I'll be sure to catch them the second time around.

HAHAHAHA! Me leaving my island only 30% terraformed since March was NOT laziness, it was a cunning strategy to ensure the catching of the dung beetle!

I don't track these things but I managed to complete my fish collection the other day because I was fishing for nook miles and I fished up the pond smelt. Going forward, if I'm lucky, I should be able to complete the other collections by next year. (Except for the art collection. I don't trade. So it will probably never be complete!) I've given up on referring to charts when a new month rolls up. It takes time and gives me stress. But I still fish, catch bugs and sea creatures because I'm still chasing nook miles. Just for the fun of it.
