Have you ever kept merch of something that you're not a fan of anymore?

Yeah, when I was a kid I was a fan of a lot of stuff I never bothered to play/watch, I just thought I'd look cool being a fan. 😅 I have a Heartless hat from the Kingdom Hearts franchise but I've never played any KH games, haha. Same goes for Touhou Project, I have a plushie of the red girl (the main character or something idk) but I barely know anything about the game/franchise. Somehow now I wish I could have spent the money on something I was actually invested in instead of buying whatever was 'in'.

No, I've always gotten rid of something I'm no longer a fan of especially when it comes to music merchandise as I hate having things lying around the house that serve no purpose. I remember getting rid of a load of CD's from a band I was obsessed with when I was a teenager and found it so gratifying to get closure from a time in my life that I could look back on fondly. It was the same with the clothing merchandise aspect, I simply stopped wearing certain items of clothing and then got rid of them, it's why I don't buy into that sort of merchandise anymore as I feel it doesn't always age well and I can save my money for other things I feel will in the long run.

yeah, mostly out of nostalgia... i have a tiny figure of chihiro from danganronpa that i still love, but if anyone tries to talk to me about that series i cannot get away fast enough lmao
i have a kingdom hearts artbook, and some random merch here and there, as well, and i'm very much not a fan of those games anymore. but, other than a necklace with demyx's sitar which i'm trying to sell, i wouldn't really want to get rid of any of it.

i have a d.va bunny hoodie which i love but i dont play overwatch much anymore and i when i do i rarely tank lol

Mostly out of feeling bad for getting rid of it, but yes. Most of it would have to be stuff from middle school when I was still a "weeb" that was obsessed with a lot of B-tier slice of life anime, as well as a bunch of old DVDs from my childhood, whether it be the curious george movie, pixar movies, or this random one I got from a Lego Club magazine years ago. Not only that, but I get this feeling that eventually I'd want to look back on this stuff (and occasionally I do to get a nostalgia kick), which motivates me to keep this old stuff that I don't necessarily care about anymore.

Like a TV series, games series, or series of books that you were a fan of, but still keep remains of merch of it.

I'm not a fan of Curious George, but l still have a stuffed animal of him sitting in the dust. I really don't like Legend of Zelda BOTW, but l still use this BOTW Link blanket everytime. And l have a few frozen things like dolls even though l don't really like the movies. I even have more merch of things l don't like anymore xD
ALWAYS! i never sell or three them away bc if i bought it its because i really i really liked it at that time

I've kept a few things like this from my childhood out of nostalgia/sentimentality, but otherwise if I lose interest in something, I don't usually keep any attachment to the merch. If I don't get a sense of happiness from having it anymore, I'd rather it go to someone who will still enjoy it.
Maybe a little exception in that I do have merch from the Code: Realize anime? I mean, I love the games (clearly), I'm just not terribly big on the anime adaptation. It's still the same characters though, and I actually prefer the chibi art style used in merch from the anime over the chibi style typically used by the game merch.

Harry Potter stuff. JK Rowling expresses TERF ideas which have made me not want to be a JK/Potter fan anymore but I still have some items.

Yes! I have a Bring Me The Horizon shirt, but I still wear it, and I have stuffed animals from games and shows that I really loved, but they're super cuddly and cute so I kept them.
