Zee. Never heard anybody pronounce it as ?Zed?

I say "Zee." So, for those who say "Zed," how do y'all sing the ABCs? Because I thought the whole point of the "next time won't you sing with me" is that it rhymes with "Zee."

"zed", because that's just the normal way of saying it here. But I think when I say it irl I have said it both ways.

'Zed' probably.

I've never really took notice, but since I often have to spell things out in work I probably say 'zed' more since it's a lot clearer and easier to distinguish it from other letters, alongside the phonetic alphabet, whereas people often mistake 'zee' for 'C' ("see")...Sometimes 'P' ("pea") if they're think as f-

never heard of that song version. for us it was something 'now i got them in my head, all the letters from a to z(ed)' actually.

i say "zee" cause that's what i was taught in school where we used American English
but i believe they use "zed" in british english speaking countries right?

i know koreans use "zed" as well, tho it's pronounced more like "je-tu" (pronounced like the "eu" sound)

I've known about other countries using the zed instead of "zee" for a few years since I've watched a Canadian video game streamer for a number of years and one time the chat room brought it up and it was addressed. Makes sense considering its origins.

That said, having been born and raised in the US, I've always used the "zee" pronunciation as it's the commonly accepted version and we're conditioned to do so.

It’s amazing to know how many people say Z differently. I’d like to hear more people’s way of saying it.

i’m almost 25 and i’ve mever heard it as “zed” my mind is blown. is it just a difference in countries or is it supposed to actually be zed and america got lazy and started using zee?!

Huh, never knew that. So not only is pronunciation different, but the songs are different too. Looks like I learned something new today.

Yeah I never heard of your version so same here I guess aha.

I think it's mainly country differences and what kind of English you speak, we got taught British English so that's why I say zed and never almost use zee.

edit: found an article on the matter and idk how "true" it is but interesting read:

It’s zee. I wouldn’t rhyme the letter with a poisonous substance.

Fun fact: when it’s pronounced “zee”, it’s used a lot more often in spelling. But when it’s pronounced the wrong way, the letter “s” is used in some of the words “z” is used.

99% of the time i say "zed", bc that's how i learnt it. but in some cases i randomly say "zee" instead. like when i say "dragon ball z", i have to say "zee". saying "dragon ball zed" sounds weird to me lol
