I was brought up to say "zee". My friend in the UK (AdvLAMP) says "zed" and I haven't encountered it much before him. He even says zeh-bra (for zebra) which is awesome.

I was taught to say zed when I started off in a british schooling system. But after I went to an american schooling system I started saying zee. So I guess it's an American thing.

Yeah kinda. Zed was always that one special letter at the end that has a different pronunciation than most letters.
