How long is your hair?

Very long, usually when it reaches the lowest part of my back I will cut at least 3 inches off. My mom used to force me to get haircuts when I was little (bowl cuts / above shoulder length hair) so ever since then I tend to keep my hair on the longer side because I can. She still asks me every time I see her when I’m gonna cut my hair though. lol But now that I’m older, long hair has gotten to be a lot more work to take care of. I mostly always have it in braids now just to keep it out of the way. Maybe one day I will go back to short hair, nothing above shoulder length though. I’ll have to work my way up to that!

I have a funny story to tell about my hair that is relevant to this thread.

When I was younger, my hair used to be long or even very long. I didn’t like having such long hair, so naturally I wanted to get it cut. I would ask my mom every once in a while if I could get my hair cut. Every time, the answer would be no. Why? Because she thought my long hair was ‘beautiful’, and wanted to keep it that way. This went on for years. I think I even wanted it to get cut by my grandma in secret at one point.

Eventually, after deciding that all the knots and difficulty with hair brushing wasn’t worth it to keep my hair long and ‘beautiful’, Mom gave in and let me have my hair the length I want. I’m pretty sure this was only a few years ago, by the way.

My hair is now at ‘short’ level. I like having short hair. I don’t have to wash as much hair while in the shower, and hair doesn’t get in my mouth as often.

Also, my current hair makes me look like the berries and cream guy from that one Starbursts commercial. lol

My hair is very short! I have a pixie cut with bangs. It looked absolutely pitiful during lockdown (didn't cut it from January - June) and I hope I don't have to go that long without cutting it again I went and got it cut Friday despite it not being that long because cases are starting to rise again here and I'm paranoid hairdressers will close again

Mine's a little bit below my armpits right now. For the last couple of years I've different variations of a short bob but I'm growing it out now and I'm loving it. I actually find that I spend less time on it now that's it long and doesn't need to be extensively styled every morning.

my hair is usually very long. it often goes past my waist. but i just had it cut to just below my shoulders back in January (second time donating ~10in of hair) so at the moment it ends right below my armpits.

idk how long I'm gonna let it grow before I have it all cut again but my assumption is that it's gonna go far beyond my waist again. I like to cut a lot off at once and donate it, especially since people often compliment my hair

My hair always used to be a matted mess because I had no idea how to take care of curly hair when I was younger. Now I keep it long without issues. It goes well beyond my shoulders when damp, but then springs up to just brushing my shoulders when dry.

It's amazing how much cooler/lighter it feels when I get it cut though. If I didn't hate how it looked short I'd keep it that way.

Mine for ages was very long, about down to my waist, but it was so heavy i cut it in the last year, so now its just above my chin

I'm one of those people who has had a ton of hairstyles over the years. I've always cut my own hair since high school, and change it on a whim as a result. Had everything from super-long hippie hair halfway down my back, mohawks, buzzed off, etc. Right now, I've been growing my hair pretty long over the summer...and I'll probably keep it this way. In simple terms...I have a pretty long mullet right now. But...I feel like calling it a mullet is selling it a bit short. I think people tend to get a negative idea when you say you have a mullet...but, it's fine. People have actually told me my hair looks really nice...which is odd, because...yeah, it's a mullet. Lol. As for the length? It's down to my shoulders in the back. Sides, top, and front are all cut shorter (as one does)...hahaha.

My hair is at the top of my lower back now. I usually have it a few inches below my shoulder. I haven't been to the hairdresser since the lockdown. My city is opening up but I don't trust the general public to go to the hairdresser just yet.

Very short, but lately I’ve been growing it longer and sweeping it to the side because it looks good that way. My hair is really thick and grows quickly which I’m thankful for.

I’d say mine is medium/long. It used to be super long but I couldn’t take it anymore and I cut it myself since getting in to get a haircut anywhere is an actual nightmare.
