how often do you remember your dreams?

I don't remember my most recent dreams, but there's a few from several years ago that still haunt me to this day...

...such as getting chased and hit by a driverless truck in the middle of a 3-way intersection on a vehicle-less highway at the middle of the night with only lamposts illuminating the roads.

...or a massive labyrinthine castle in the sky made of stone and steel and lots of gears and machinery where I just kept wandering aimlessly.

I remember very small bits of my dreams. A lot of it impressions of I did XYZ but never the details other than maybe who I was with

I either don't remember (but I am aware I had them) or I only remember them in very minimal detail. I never remember them vividly. There's always something missing...

I go through periods where I go months without remembering a single dream and then I have a bunch in a week or two. Usually I forget about most of them within a few hours. My dreams used to be mostly surreal, but over the past year I've had a bunch of mundane dreams that felt like real life. I'd forget them until something similar happened in the real world and then I remembered I already dreamt it. It's happened to me a lot recently and it's really creepy.

Tbh almost never. Sometimes I have some pieces left of my dreams but not much.

There are some I remember when I first wake up but then forget them very quickly, probably only a handful I can actually recall, usually find I'm better at remembering them if I tell them to someone soon after I wake.

Pretty often I think. If I can remember them when I wake up I write as much detail as I can in my notes app

I do remember them!

One time I was dreaming of going to a Korean restaurant to do KBBQ and got woken up just before I got to eat the food I had grilled. Needless to say, I was very irritable

I usually only remember them when I get to sleep in/sleep longer than usual! But when I do, I usually remember them quite well, at least for a bit after waking up, and if I tell someone about it I'll usually remember better. I know for a while when I was younger I kept a dream journal which was cool, I kind of want to try again but I don't know if I have the time right now hah

i remember my dreams most of the time when i initially wake up. when i was in high school i used to keep a dream journal and i think i still have it somewhere. i would sketch out some of the scenes too. now if i have a really really good dream i’ll type it out in my notes or text someone about it. if it’s a good dream and i wake up in the middle of the night, i try to replay it in my head so i can remember it longer. if its a bad dream then i try to forget about it asap.

I remember some of the contents when I wake up. I need to almost immediately write it down or else I'll forget what happened apart from a very general overview.

most of the time, but only in bits and pieces. i never remember everything that happens.

sometimes. if i remember it in a fair bit of detail i might make a note of it. most of the time i don't remember anything from dreams when i wake up

I remember them most mornings, but sometimes just for mere minutes before they drift away.

I never remember my dreams. I don't know if that is good or bad. Dreams I do rarely remember are usually vivid and I eventually wake up from them.

When I first wake-up I remember them. But often it disappears from my memory quite quickly.

I dozed off very briefly last night, and all I remember is a giant pixelated daisy.

This is me! Glad I’m not the only one. I don’t always dream but when I do I remember them clear as day as I’m waking up. Once I’m fully awake however it’s usually completely gone. I’m lucky if I remember even one vague thing about the dream I had.

i will remember them as soon as i am awake, but they're gone from my mind by the end of the day.. unless the dream was super insane..

something i do kind of just want to start doing is jotting my dreams down in a journal each morning!! i think it'd be a fun way to wake up, and i get to look back on the weird dreams i have had :]

it depends on what the dream was. there are mornings where i know i had a dream, but can't remember any of it for the life of me. still remember a good number of dreams that i've had as a kid. would be neat to be able to remember every dream i've had, though.

I have a nightmare disorder, so.. typically, it depends! Before I was taking medication for them, I would always remember my dreams/nightmares. Sometimes, they weren't even really nightmares, but dreams that were so offputting and bizarre that I'd wake up panicking. But.. since my medication for my intense vivid dreams and/or nightmares has been working.. I haven't really been having any, or remembering them for that matter!
