How old were you before you were allowed to date?

My parents didn't care :) I got my first gf in grade 9, when I was 14-15.

I'm 22 and I still haven't been on a date. The first date I go on I'm treating her somewhere super special. I hope she has some Chuck E. Cheese coupons ready
Let's go hun <3

Only dated once(mistake), always wanted to date. Never found one who felt the same. I doubt I was ever allowed to not date. I don't think most parents put something like that on boys.

That's actually very true. I had a few girl friends who weren't allowed to have boyfriends. But out of my male friends I never heard of anybody saying they weren't allowed to date. I had one friend whose parents were extremely strict, she wasn't allowed a boyfriend until at least 19. Funnily enough it never actually worked out that way, she ended up rebelling and getting pregnant very young. It's all worked out for her now but I just find it strange that the girls who were given such restrictions ended up having boyfriends anyway and those who didn't (like myself) ended up waiting quite late before having a relationship. I guess knowing I had the option there just didn't really bother me. Nobody ever explicitly said to me either way that I could or couldn't date.

I think I went on my first "date" that my mom knew about when I was 13-14 something like that. But they weren't really "relationships" they were all just dates, and then we were like bf/gf for like a week following and then moved on. Young dating it silly like that for the most part. After that the first time I really started "going out" with someone was probably when I was like... 16 or 17. And that was like "spending the night" dating, and actually like going to dinner and not just "to the movies" or "to town" like the kiddo dates were. My current long term boyfriend never really dated before we were together, he just came over a few times and then I couldn't get him to leave. <3

allowed to date? my parents never gave me such restriction, i was a mature teenager and i'm now a mature adult, so it never happened to me.

I was always 'allowed' to date. That some parents say their kids can't seems totally out of line to me.

I was 15 when I first 'dated' though.

I was allowed to date at around 14 but the struggle was real because my school had no gay guys. My first relationship was this year (18). My parents are ehh about me dating still but they don't understand im growing up. Not to mention I don't like guys younger than me or my age. But yes I was 18 when i first started dating

i mean ive never dated anyone but i don't have dating restrictions. they wanted me to wait til i was like 15 i'm pretty sure so... gg?

I was never told I couldn't go with people so idk
I haven't had a boyfriend yet, but next year when I'm 16, I'd probably feel more comfortable....

I look 8 so I feel like I'm too young for this stuff............but maybe I am anyway
It kinda cringes me out when I see younger kids "dating" and stuff tbh, but that's probably a lot of kids in my school just go out with people because "it's the cool thing to do"
