I love little introspection prompts like these, so I thought it'd be fun to make a thread on the subject. I can tell that there've been similar threads in the past, but none active since ACNH came out, so I figured it was a good opportunity to kickstart a new one!

Which of the villager personalities, if any, feels the most like "you"? And, if you're comfortable sharing, what about that personality resonates with you?

To clarify, this is not a question about your favourite villager personality, but rather which personality you think is most similar to yours. That's an important distinction -- we're not always our own best friends!

I look forward to reading others' responses and the rationale behind them! :)

i legit talk and act like a peppy villager, i'm known to be quite an annoying person because i'm just so upbeat all the time lol

Speaking for myself, as weird as it feels to say, I think Smug is my closest match.

I play New Horizons in Japanese, and the Boku-B personality is demonstrably less self-absorbed than the English script's equivalent, which plays into my decision. They're confident, well-spoken and definitely lost in their own little worlds sometimes, but I do get the sense that they genuinely care for, admire and respect the other villagers (especially the player). I talk a lot, pride myself in my ability to charm others and (at least try to) use my words to lift others up and inspire them to be their best selves. During the scenes where Smugs shine most, that's what I see them doing, and I can't get enough of it, haha.

When I was younger I think I would have identified with the other Boku-type (Lazy), though. But people grow and change, and personalities along with them -- my experiences have given me a lot of self-confidence, and I'm not the type to bashfully stow it away from others.

The version of myself that I present to the world is mostly normal. I am shy, friendly, and love to read. I try to be nice to everyone. But behind closed doors with only my close family and loved ones present, I am very much like a cranky. I prefer to be left alone, I complain all the time, I get very agitated at people. So I'm a combination of both, but I try to keep the cranky side at bay when I'm out in public.

I feel like I would def end up being a lazy villager. I love to lounge around and just exist, and I could easily see myself becoming a villager that feels like she is “one with the bugs” and just loving to nap and snack all the time. I mean, seriously, who doesn’t love snacks.

I feel like I could also potentially see myself as being like a peppy villager because I do tend to talk like one and also act like one when I’m out in public. I feel as if it’s just because I am quite an extrovert, and so I can be really eccentric and tbh probably a little annoying.

Overall, however, I feel like I am much more of a lazy villager in my heart and soul.

i ended up taking a animal crossing personality quiz a while back and i got uchi! though i think i could also belong in the cranky category as well because i tend to complain a lot lol

i think i would probably be a mix of normal or lazy.. though i promise i don't constantly talk about the bugs on the floor whispering to me

uchi! Probably with hints of normal when I'm meeting people for the first time and being polite, and cranky when things bother me and I have to rant 😛
