Is TT considered cheating ?

Really...do we need to get into this argument AGAIN? This discussion belongs in one of the two groups created for these discussions!! I do not think it is necessary to once again posts those links, so I would suggest you all go look for yourself. Can we now please lock this thread before either side goes over the edge.

who cares if its cheating holy crap its just time traveling
its not cheating
its just how you play a game
you cant really cheat in ac (other than duping but i dont rly think that as cheating)

In the past few games I wouldn't Time-Travel. I don't have a huge amount of patience for the game currently though, and the game has an explicit awareness OF this phenomenon; there is no preventative measure established by the creators. This game is fun, but it doesn't possess an intense amount of longevity where I can casually pick it up for 30 minutes a day, waiting for public works projects... demolitions.... new stock.... stores to open..... etc. With Time travel I can skip without consequence to finish a project among many other things. It's not cheating, but it DOES cheapen the experience (You will be attached to the luxury and therefore having to wait will really begin to irk you).

TT is cheating. It's clearly stated, it's not hacking, but it is cheating.

It's been just as clearly stated that it isn't cheating.

I do think this needs to be locked. Arguments always seem to arise on topic such as this. I'm all for people playing w/e way they choose to, but not people judging others ways of playing.

I don't consider it cheating. Your villagers call you a "time traveler" if you TT a lot. Obviously Nintendo doesn't think that it's cheating if they chose to allow your villagers to call you a time traveler. It's how you choose to play your game. I've been doing it since the GC version. If the game was MEANT to be played one day at a time, why are you given the option to change the date and the time?

Staff, can one of you lock this? We all end up butting into each other's business over something that isn't even cheating.

A cheat is something the developers didn't intend. A feature is something intended. Big difference. If you still actually consider something that's been around since 2002 cheating, I feel sorry for you.

Actually, a glitch is something the developers didnt intend. Lots (if not most) games have cheat codes incorporated into them - a phrase you have to enter, a sequence of buttons to press, whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I tt probably more than the average person and don't consider it cheating, but just wanted to point that out.

Honestly, I don't think this was an intended feature to begin with. But Nintendo must not have been too up in arms about it, since they haven't made it impossible. Still, I feel like a cheater when I TT, but it doesn't really bother me. "Cheats" that don't affect other people aren't worth getting upset about. Live and let live, right?

Basically it's your game so you decide what you think is right/wrong for you. So~ really you shouldn't care what other people think about the way you play your game.

One of the things I hate about Animal Crossing is how it's set in real life time.
It gets so boring that way, plus my life doesn't revolve around this game.
I have school & studying, so if a visitor wants to visit me should I just sit around and wait? No. I TT.

And really, on holidays like Christmas and my birthday I am not playing Animal Crossing.
I am with family and friends.

I really wish Animal Crossing had it's own game time.

No, TTing is not considered cheating. TTing is the right way to play the game and I think non-TTers should play the game the way it is supposed to be played. :) That's just my opinion though.

I think its more rewarding to actually get stuff done before five years time, but that's definitely a personal decision. You'll probably get your butt chewed for such a suggestion and calling it the "right way". lol

This is sarcasm right?
