Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States

He’s not even a true conservative. Just some attention whore who acts like a god.
well of course. he's an actor/celebrity. he's treating the presidency like it's some showtime gig, when he's supposed to be taking care of and representing the people of the US. the fact that anyone could think that he's a good fit for president is asinine.

I am concerned about the fight Trump will put up over the next few months, but I trust that the ballots were all legal and I have to hope that the courts will not let him get away with calling voter fraud and throwing a temper tantrum over nothing.
from my perspective he has been saying for Months that he isn't sure he'll concede if he loses the election so this just seems like predicted behaviour, he was always going to point a finger somewhere and say that him losing isn't legit. hasn't there been allegations of voting fraud in basically every single election?? what my main concern is would be how big he blows up his reaction and how much that will bleed down to his supporters and what could possibly come out of that (people not accepting new president, having protests/riots, etc). I'd like to hope that sort of thing won't happen but honestly seeing how radicalised some of the people supporting trump have been I can't rule anything out at this point

It's Republicans who are the only ones insisting on voter fraud despite low, low rates of it, largely because it pisses them off that they've lost the popular vote in every presidential election since 1992 (sans 2004).

ok firstly the overwhelming relief/happiness from nearly everyone on this thread makes my heart warm

but i just wanna say that i am extremely relieved. trump never deserved to be president and he made a mockery of the position while he held it. i live in a red state and most of my family is conservative so no one around me feels my joy and i cant really express it, but im still very happy.

im also praying for the safety of any poc and lgbtq folks in the coming days. pls stay safe ya'll and try to stay inside as much as you can for the next while just in case <3
I appreciate these sentiments, by the way. :)

i'm so glad he won, but i won't glorify him as he's also a bad person; both candidates are bad, but biden was the better option and i cannot stan trump (y)

The good thing about being in the middle of a pandemic is that the Trump supporters can't see my smug grin through my mask.

I mean...but if you ever wanted to show them anyway, there's always this option:

idk if this was a typo but it’s killing me lmaoo
Why did americans even voted for him over clinton is beyond me.
they didn’t really, hillary won the popular vote but thanks to the dumb electoral college system in place trump got the presidency

Yeah, I live in a swing state and I'm seeing this popping up in my local news. People were crying about fraud and the local election committee even came out and said "both Trump and Biden had staffers in the counting room, there were maybe like 10 remotely sus ballots and even if we removed them (and keep in mind not all of them need removed) nothing would change" So many Trump supporters are being quoted in these articles and they are all using the exact same buzzwords and phrasing. It's all bizarre and cultish, which is why I'm so worried that bad stuff is going to happen before Biden can take over and hopefully have the National Guard on standby as needed.

The guy was so far into the 10 steps of fascism I'm baffled how his supporters still think wanting nothing to do with them is oh so mean.

Biden is far from ideal, but everything starts with a first step, and the step off the road heading straight into the abyss was long overdue.

threatening to move to Mexico
Are they trying to threaten the USA or Mexico?

In short, I'll just say I wish Jorgensen was more popular.

I am probably one of the few people actually pretty concerned about Biden winning in my country.
(I am not reading the comments of this thread so please don't think I am targeting anyone. Everyone has their reasons, opinions, and perspectives for whatever voting they do.)
I never did like Biden. Even when he was Vice. I still to this day think that Obama was pressured to take Biden as Vice. Biden's History talks and it isn't a good one by any means and I am surprised people aren't more concerned about it in usa. And even if you are a fan of Trump, he clearly cannot handle another 4 years. I was not impressed with his Twitter skills and online propaganda. I also wished Bernie Sanders didn't drop in 2016 but here we are.

Not sure why I came back to this thread.
As a Trump supporter, it’s really hurtful to see people from this community saying that they won’t be friends with someone like me and saying things about me that aren’t true. I feel very unwelcome here and it sucks because I thought I found a community where I could belong and make friends and have fun. No one cares about my opinion, so I won’t say anything else.

the first step in rectifying this is acknowledging that individuals are not the ones who get to decide if we ourselves are racist, misogynistic, homo/transphobic, etc.. these are things that only others can decide about us, specifically people belonging to the affected groups.

donald trump has vilified the black lives matter movement at every occasion, repeatedly referred to mexicans as sexual offenders/criminals, refers to covid as the "china virus"/"chinese virus", referred to neo-nazis as "very fine people" and told the proud boys (a white supremacist/nazi group) to "stand back and stand by", and is incredibly anti-immigrant. donald trump is racist, and supporting a racist is racist. being unwilling to acknowledge, analyze, and change our own racist behavior is racist.

The election process isn't final until December.

Yeah, I was all for Bernie but we all know how that went out .-.
As for Jorgensen, there was little to no coverage on her so I didn't know she existed until the last few days. Not to mention the electoral college makes it so much harder for third parties to make it through.
