I never tried any of the mirrors XD I really had no idea, nor did I even try with Serena. I don'tthink my image even had anyone, what was I suppose to see.
To the people who can make anything out, how to do I get yours powers?
But this new bonus round, I'll hit that any day. XD

Oh man, finally I saw a mirror! Just typed it in wrong =) Well, I count that as a win, despite not getting the tickets

Darn. The first thing I saw was the Pokémon Steenee because the top of Olimar's outline's backpack looked like the stem on the top of its head. Didn't really have time to try more since I had to finish the final Forest of the Lustrous entry.

At least I can see him once revealed, as opposed to the two previous mirrors.

Anywho, this was fun. Especially liked the cryptograms and I Spy. Hope to see them again.

I couldn't make out the entire outline of this one even with some adjustments, but after several guesses and a couple re-attempts at tracing, I noticed the thing on top of his head and went "don't Pikmin characters have those?" and got it right after!

Thanks again for the bonus round! ^^ I lost my streak at the Splatoon cat, so I'm glad I was able to get this one at least!

Thank you Mistreil and Mick for hosting! I liked the varying difficulty of the tasks, and I was appreciative for having two rounds of each (including one by redemption code)!

huh? i typed in captain olimar several times and it didnt take it- full names, spaces, "cptn," everything. why didn't it take? :/ thats actually who i was referencing earlier in this thread too, saying i had a feeling i knew who it was but it was wrong. thats kinda frustrating

Did you try it in all capitals, no spaces, as stated in the prompt? 'CAPTAINOLIMAR' should/would have worked!

yep! All caps*! I messed up the first two rounds because I didn't do caps so I learned my lesson XD I'm positive I did it though

When I first looked at the image, I was like "huh, kinda looks like Olimar". Didn't bother guessing, like 10 minutes later I actually start tracing it to try and solve it and go "wait it totally is Olimar!" early on. At least I knew well enough to try CAPTAINOLIMAR after OLIMAR didn't work, lol.

i wasn’t planning on giving the bonus mirror a go after how much i struggled with the last 2, but i’m glad i changed my mind because i actually got it right! i traced the outline twice and this is what i wound up with:

the first one had me thinking it was some sort of dinosaur character, so i’m glad i traced it again because otherwise i might not have gotten it. the second tracing looked like an alien to me (and the starry background supported that), so i started looking for celestial/space-related/alien characters. i’m not really familiar with any nintendo characters that aren’t animal crossing, so i definitely wouldn’t have guessed captain olimar if i hadn’t come across a picture of him online. i’m lowkey proud my second tracing actually looks like him, though LOL.

thank you for hosting this event @Mistreil, and thank you for the bonus round @Mick! i definitely had more fun (and better luck) with the ispy and cryptogram puzzles than the hidden scribbles and mirrors, but overall this event was awesome, and i really appreciate the time put into it + the round 7 hints.

I'm so mad at myself. I love Pikmin and should have gotten this. I didn't take as much time to really look at it as I normally would do since I had submissions to finish and enter for other events.

Ngl I thought this was either gonna be a female character or an androgynous character
I kept seeing something that looked like a flower or a bow/ribbon turns out that was apparently Olimar's jetpack/space suit thing
and I thought the character was wearing a dress which was just the weird pose/angle Olimar is in I guess?
I typed in lots of Female Nintendo characters names(honestly thought this was Rosalina or Celeste because of the space theme) then tried some other characters
I did at one point guess Pikmin because I traced a Pikmin-like ear and tried multiple variants of that(Ex. Red Pikimin, Blue Pikmin etc.)
oh well at least I get those wishing well tickets
